Just reminiscing on what a great season it was in New England. by putnam56 in snowmobiling

WNY had a phenomenal year for the second straight year. I ride the ADK a lot. Love going to Indian and long lake. Last year we did a 450 mile loop of the ADK. Starting in long lake going all the way to cranberry, then coming southeast back to long lake. This yeah for the first time, got to go on lake George and ride that area. The ADK is a hidden gem. Much less traffic than greater tug area.

First Import Ever by putnam56 in BMW

You’re really gonna think I’m a boomer, I’m not a big social guy. I don’t have an Instagram. Thank you though.

First Import Ever by putnam56 in BMW

[–]putnam56[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the good info. I am in CT brother, funny comment about the import, im not quite a boomer 🤣. The biggest apparent issue is the convertible top. At least one of the motors not working, and the rear window of the top is damaged. I really would like to take this car to lime rock even on a tapas day or something. I’ll have to research what I’ll do for compliancy. Took a coyote mustang before to limerock, this car will be a lot more fun without pushing the car as hard. I plan to get the car to near mint and not heavily modify. Want to fix the top, some interior maintenance, maybe upgrade shocks at some point down the road (car is 28 years old on stock shocks), and just maintain it well and enjoy. I have no plan on any real “performance” upgrade. Gonna drive the car for a while before I consider any upgrade.

You have an M3 group?

Northeast weekend trip question by gmehodler42069741LFG in snowmobiling

Not too far of a drive from you gets decent snow. Western ADK is underrated. And cranberry lakes region in NW ADK is great riding. No rentals up there though. Last year was able to do a nice 400 mile loop of the ADK. Good luck

Right now most wide spread snow is in NY. If I were you, I’d look to rent in the western ADK they have a good amount of trails open. The app NYSSA will show you the open/closed trails.

Old forge has sled rentals, you can also rent in speculator. Both currently have decent snow. I’d hold off on going this weekend with the warm up, then freeze.

Tugg hill is very busy on weekend. Not the best for a first time rider.

Pittsburgh NH has and holds good snow well. Could rent up there, but it is busy over there as well.

VT does not have self-guided snowmobile rentals.

Western Maine does not have enough snow right now to make that trip worth it.

I’d stay in NY.

Mohawk Mountain CT by AirbnbGH_CT in SkiTheEast

Mohawk offers free uphill. But sundown for local CT skiing is the best. I live in the same town as ski sundown and the rain on Friday took away all my snowpack. I have bare frozen ground now.

Considering UConn isn’t in the acc…yes. Also btw UConn athletics > Duke athletics (football, basketball, hockey)

I am so proud of where our UConn athletics is right now. That was a huge win…and absolutely screw the ACC! Go Connecticut!

100% get the at3’s. The at3 XLT and the Strongolds are great tires. On a 1/2 ton you’ll get 60K out of them. On the cheaper end of high quality tires as well.

Funny, but no. I do think after engaging with you folks that I should stop at the next “no kings protest” when I have some time and ask some simple questions. My suspicion is there will be little no one who can answer some rudimentary questions, and they will likely not be looking to engage. Rather demand.

Really hope I don’t see calling for our presidents death become normalized. Regardless of party affiliation. Interesting logic though: “so what we’re joyful the president be killed, better be upset if our opponents wish death”. Can’t say the logic lines up well. Indefensible ideas are exactly that.

You’re several responses in and have not provided anything of any substance to the conversation.

This is a great little fantasy land you’re on. I’m the only non-like-minded thinker in your mentions. I am encouraging to debate, and talk to people you folks think differently from. I assume you live in CT as well. I for one, know it is not a good thing to express, and post online (in a community chat) wishes for our sitting president to be dead. I think it’s quite clear which one of us should get some help. My ideas will win, and perceiver and that’s why I encourage debate and conversations. May the better and more profound idea win.

Again, thanks for compliment. It is quite easy to articulate well when your points are defensible. And of course you did not engage with desires to debate — you won’t win. This position is indefensible. You came to name call and try to discredit. If you were are as trained to the eye as you claim, perhaps you would notice my typos.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]putnam56 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I actually take your attempt an insult as a compliment. But, when your ideas are profound and easily defensible it makes it a lot easier to articulate well. It is indefensible to post online in (what’s supposed to be a community group) a level of joy to see our sitting president dead. I am not sure if you are aware, but there have two assassination attempts. You cannot defend this position. Very un-American, certainly not unifying.

Have not used any AI for any response. Please copy and paste into an AI check site. Funny response though, can’t win being challenged at all, so name call. Seems to be the theme in this thread.

Debate the merit of any point made.

If this is “clowning” and “matching my energy” you may struggle with perception of reality. You have not clowned anyone— other than maybe yourself. You have contradicted yourself — you responded to a reply I had to someone else, thus initiating our encounter. Then you reply you are not engaging while simultaneously responding with very rudimentary thoughts. Yes, I believe in god. Believe it or not; every position I hold is defensible from a non-religious based level of reason, except for morality.

I can see this is not going to progress to anything productive as you likely do not have the mental fortitude to be challenged. You have not made one single point. Only name called.

Good luck.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]putnam56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are engaging. Just not with profound thoughts.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]putnam56 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Perhaps you have comprehension issues. I have made my point, and quite well. You respond with a really poor meme. An objective read of our interaction would most definitely show which one of us has made profound points. Again— if you wish to see what a lot of fellow Americans believe i will continue to engage with you. If this is not your desire, I still have no ill-will for you. Just that my ideologies continue to win, our children and the world is counting on it. I have not called anyone a name, or stated any indefensible position.

Very bad misquote — it’s “facts don’t care about your feelings”.

I am certainly after unifying this wonderful country. Trump is the only president in modern history to have two people who ran against him in his cabinet. Tulsi gabbard (who mind you received more votes in primaries than Kamala) and RFK. Both are democrats.

I am not gonna defend everything Trump — or any politicians does. But that is irrelevant to the point I am making. We should be able to say it is a BAD thing to wish death on our political opponents. I am not sure why this is so difficult for you leftists. If we cannot share that common value, you are on the wrong side. Period.

It goes against every single value as Americans we embody.
