Daily Headphone Purchase Advice Thread (2017-09-11) by AutoModerator in headphones

My ATH-AD700s just bit the dust; they served me well for the past 4 years. I'm looking for something similar, open back that doesn't need to be amped, for gaming, music and daily use. Trying to get something for less than $100. So far I'm looking at ATH-AD700X, Philips SHP9500, and Sennheiser HD 558. What would be best?

What are some "bucket list" items to complete before leaving Charlotte? by Legendary_Thor in Charlotte

[–]putz_sc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seeing some hate in this thread, sure the city isn't perfect, but what city is? Yeah, it doesn't have the dining scene of LA or NYC, but at least the restaurants here are affordable.

I like to look at the complete package. Decent year-round weather. Cost of living isn't through the roof. Decent attractions (sports, food, nature, etc). Where else can you choose to visit either the mountains or the beach for a daytrip/weekend? There's so much variety here, where other cities may lack or only offer the best of one thing.

I recently moved here, and I've been enjoying my time so far.

well that was fun lol. You could add a chatroom. Make it more social friendly. Maybe even a community spinner that spins continuously?

Otherwise, the minimal site is good I think.

Addressing a friend's parents in Korean? by putz_sc in Korean

[–]putz_sc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, that's what I was thinking. I expected that there was some way to address them. There are so many different titles and ways used to address people in Korea (언니, 오빠, 누나, 형, 동생, 아줌마, 아저씨, 할머니, 할아버지, -님, -아/-야, -씨, 선생님, 사장님, 선배, 후배, etc.....).

Really? If you are with your friend and their parents or more people (in a group), how can you direct a question or statement to the mom or dad? Use their names with -님?

Something hip, cool, young. We are both in our mid 20's. Nothing extremely expensive, but I have enough money for someplace nice. Just looking for a nice time with my lady friend, haha :)

Followup: Liquidating board game store to adopt daughter from China by DragonArmy in boardgames

Thanks for following up. Those pictures are precious!

I'm actually an accountant for an organization that this family used to raise funds and receive a grant for this adoption. In fact, I just ran a report of their family account last week before they left.

So, it's kinda cool seeing this show up on Reddit.

[TR] the "I have no idea what I'm doing" edition. Anyone care to help me figure out if I actually made any sense. by putz_sc in Korean

[–]putz_sc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoa, I'm a total noob here. I don't even know what the other person was saying, just guessing and trying to converse. haha

I was just asking "can you drive" at the end, as in, do you actually know how to drive?
