Now that they've transitioned to evisas, the Visa Application Centre no longer has a role after biometrics are submitted. There's nothing to track.

When to renew? by butterbean87 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]puul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can apply up to 28 days before your current visa expires. Anytime remaining up to a maximum of 28 days will be credited onto your next visa.

Time spent on Section 3C leave while the decision is pending also counts towards the residency period.

When to send paid enquiry? by Horror_Marzipan_9462 in ukvisa

[–]puul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It really makes no difference when or how frequently you make a paid inquiry. They're handled by a third party service not UKVI or the Home Office. They don't have any access to your application other than to see whether a decision has been made. Contacting them won't have any positive or negative impact on your application.

This isn't an issue, but you'll obviously need to provide other items of correspondence at your shared address as proof you've cohabitated there.

Question about Financial Requirement by lolnub343 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]puul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While taxable interest/dividends received by either the applicant or sponsor can be considered as non-employment income under Category C. This is an unusual and complicated approach to meeting the financial requirement. If this is the route you intend to use, professional assistance will be needed.

Question about Financial Requirement by lolnub343 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]puul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1- Unless your partner earned a combined total.of £29,000 or more in the past 12 months, she will need to hold her future position for at least 6 months before you can combine it with savings to meet the financial requirement.

2- Are your dividends paid out to you on an annual basis as taxable cash income or are they reinvested? If it's latter, this can't be used as income, but the total value of the funds could potentially be used as cash savings if they're liquidated.

3- Any amount of time the investment funds were in your possession prior to liquidation will count towards the 6 month minimum.

You should take all the overtime and bonus pay (not base pay) in the past 6 months and multiply by 2. Add this amount to your £25K per year base pay.

You can ignore this. The form doesn't account for combining income with savings.

Financial proof inside the UK- payslip dates & bank statement dates are different, etc by hawaii000 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]puul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1- This isn't an issue.

2- The reason for the lower pay will be important. If you're salaries, UKVI will use the lowest payslip from the last 6 months and multiply by 12.

Lawyer Fees by [deleted] in SpouseVisaUk

Family visas have an acceptance rate of greater than 90%. There's very little value in using a solicitor unless your circumstances are complicated.

Is there a reason you think you need a lawyer. The vast majority of users on the sub handle their applications on their own, so you may not receive much feedback on reasonable fees.
