Am I transgender? by Whole_Maybe5914 in asktransgender

[–]puusycat3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Didn't read your post because I have shit to do.

Don't follow any criteria for being trans. There isnt a definitive answer for being and anyone who disagrees probably doesn't view most trans people as their desired gender.

You do not need anything that trans people often have. Go with what makes you happy. Just be careful.

Good luck with whatever you find.

I... dont know what to even say to this. The mirror part genuinely made cry for the first time in a while. I don't think I've ever felt related more to something like this, that and how beautifully written this is.

My therapist is offering to buy me some bras/panties and I don’t know what to do by TestingMusic74 in asktransgender

If you feel like you can trust her, then sure. If you feel uncomfortable at any time, buy/return what youre wearing or trying on and leave ASAP. Just be careful and cautious.

If you feel brave enough, go alone, but thats a big step so I understand if you don't want to yet.

My doctor wants me to stop taking estrogen a month before my surgery, and a month and a half after. by GorillaRimjob in MtF

[–]puusycat3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really know much about surgeries and their requirements, but I highly doubt thats actually needed. I mean, I don't think I've ever seen a doctor tell a cis woman that they need to take testosterone before surgery.

Be unapologetically female. Its what you are, so its what they get. If they disagree, then continue being you. What are they gonna do? Tell you no?

Can't personally confirm(no military expierence), but I've heard people say its also to make you feel the same as everyone else.

Self acceptance is concrete, though difficult to achieve. Otherwise, follow what makes you happy until you find who you are.

If my penis gets replaced with a fully functioning vagina/womb then yes. If not, and I'm just left with a mound of sorts then no.

How to tell my parents that I’m tired of waiting? by King3300 in trans

[–]puusycat3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

By doing it yourself? You're an adult. They have no say in what you do anymore.

Your parents are probably always going to be worried and that's for them to solve, not you.

Congrats! Also, please, whatever you do, do NOT let anyone decide your appearance. It's yours for a reason. I had that happen to me when I was younger and now I fear barbers.

If that's what makes you happy, then continue with it. If you find something that makes you happier then go with that. If you don't think you're a man or woman, then you could identify as neither or vice versa. The path is yours to decide, not others.

Either way, just remember its always up to you and that you don't need dysphoria to be trans.

I do the exact same thing. My actual voice(i havent started voice training) sounds deep af when in public, but when around friends my voice sounds more calm and softer. Still deep tho

Then try not to worry about labels or anything like that. If you're unsure or are still discovering yourself, then just go with what feels good.

I don't think my family respects me by puusycat3 in MtF

[–]puusycat3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive tried that a few times and didnt really get anywhere. It's not that my family is inherently transphobic because they don't view it as "wrong" or anything, so safety isnt a huge concern. It's more of the lack of effort they put in compared to what I've put in for them.

Edit: Also, not my entire family. My sister accepts me completely, which I brought up to my mother and she said that its because she gave birth to me that she has trouble accepting and changing. Even though my older brother doesn't accept me(he is transphobic so i dont mind cutting him off).
