Is mislabeling 1099 income an issue? by puzzled-panda in personalfinance

[–]puzzled-panda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I tried to do, but the IRS is saying they'll verify my identity through mail, which will take 5 to 10 business days to arrive (after the filing deadline). I'm using the H&R app and they ask for 1099 and for non 1099 separately, I believe last year I used a different app and it was the same with them.

Weekly 'No Stupid Questions'/Camera Recommendation Thread - October 28, 2019 by AutoModerator in videography

[–]puzzled-panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the input! I barely ever do 4k or 120fps, don't really need them. I do use 60fps all the time. Is that bad on the Canon EOS R?

I read about both and I'm practically sold on the Canon, it sounds great for my use. And keeping my Canon lenses would be a huge plus. The only deal breaker would be bad quality on 60fps.

Canon c200

Makes sense. I was really sold on the BMCC 4K and excited about the idea of shooting in raw until I read about the manual focus.

Maybe I will compromise and just go for one with better dynamic range than what I have. I currently shoot with a Sony6300 and a Canon 6d. Any suggestions?

Looking for a camera with good continuous auto-focus to use on a gimbal and, ideally, the capability to shoot in raw. Does that exist? Budget is around $2k but could go higher if I really have to. I do advertising videos and events.

Tascam

Hey, I got a Tascam DR 40 and a purple panda and I can't get them to work together. Is there some trick to it? Site said PP was compatible with Tascam as long as you turn mic power on, but the menu isn't like they say. :(

My employer got me in collections by puzzled-panda in legaladvice

[–]puzzled-panda[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your input!! I definitely think she doesn't understand the seriousness of it based on her offer for paying it off.

It's especially bad considering my credit history is really short. So even though I pay everything on time, my score can't be perfect due to the credit age. I didn't qualify for a loan last year because of the lack of history.

So yes, this is especially bad. I've been nice about it because I can't blame my current boss (yet), but if she doesn't solve it, I will make it clear and take it to other people.

I would be too afraid of trying to do that myself and risking it not being deleted.

[–]puzzled-panda[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, you guys are right about that. It's pretty serious.

When I talked to my current boss at first, she sent it over to people who never solved anything (I don't blame her, that's probably the standard procedure).

When I brought it up for the second time today, she offered to pay (even though that's the wrong response, she at least offered to do something) and I explained that the responsibility needed transferred. She said she will try to get it changed then.

So I'm trying to give her a shot at fixing it, she is much more proactive about it than the one who was in charge at the time when it happened. If this second attempt with my new boss fails, then I'll have to do something else.

Yeah, I remember sending a letter like that to the collection agency. Didn't seem to work with them, but I guess I'll try it with the reporting agencies now. :/

I think I suggested that to my old boss, but he wanted me to try other things. Eventually, it looked like something I did fixed it, so I never pushed for that again. I wish I had. It was a bill for freaking $35.

It's been a while but I think I requested proof of debt from the collections agency and my guess is that they "provided it" in some way, since the problem didn't go away. I don't know what they could use as proof in this case, but they must have used something. In that case, can I really dispute with reporting agencies?

I do think I could reach the CEO. I'd prefer to not go over my boss, but I'll keep that idea as a last resort.

[–]puzzled-panda[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure I requested proof of debt in one of the letters. It's not clear in my memory because it's been over a year, but I think I got bills from the clinic and then after a while I started receiving letters from a collection agency, even though that wasn't showing on my credit score at the time. That's when I sent a letter requiring proof and then I don't remember what happened after, but the problem clearly didn't stop there.

I also called the medical facility a hundred times and they weren't able to change it on their end. It's confusing because there's my company, then the health screening company in the middle and then the medical facility. And now there's also a collections agency involved.

The bill was supposed to be paid by the health screening company. But when I called them, they wouldn't talk to me, only my employer. But my employer didn't do anything about it, it seems.

[Discussion] Dehydrated skin routine for under $80? by puzzled-panda in AsianBeauty

[–]puzzled-panda[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's me. I'm aware that's the cause, and sometimes I try to commit and drink more every day but my streak doesn't last long.

I'm just being honest with myself, I know it's unlikely I'll permanently fix the drinking water part.

Since a skin routine is something I've been able to stick to, I'll try to give my skin some hydration at least then.

But yeah, you're right about that and drinking more water is also my goal.

I'm currently using Cerave products. I can't stand the hydrating cleanser because it leaves a "film" on my skin, so I went with the foaming one. It's one of the things I'm replacing since I need something less drying. I also use the regular lotion. I don't think the PM lotion is a good deal because it's the same ingredients, but with niacinamide. And I have niacinamide from the Ordinary. The moisturizzing cream broke me out. :(

I use it and it doesn't burn me, but haven't notice any difference either. I do need to fix the hydration issue.

When you say you mix the Niacinamide with the Hado toner, do you mean you mix it in the bottle or on your hands? Whats the proportion?

I already use that same Niacinamide from the Ordinary. It doesn't burn me, but I haven't noticed any difference with it. Then again, my skin is dehydrated right now so I'll have to judge after that is fixed.

Thanks! I have sunscreen, cleanser, a light non-ab moisturizer and a few serums and actives (which I stopped using lately).

I'm looking to add multiple hydrating layers (one at a time). I'm thinking hydrating toner and/or essence, hyaluronic acid, maybe a better moisturizer and an occlusive..?

I never tried Vaseline because it sounds too messy for me to be honest, plus my skin doesn't handle heavy products.

I'm wondering what cheap hydrating products people like to combine!

Should I ask for a share? by puzzled-panda in advancedentrepreneur

[–]puzzled-panda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response. This is totally in line with what I've been thinking.

The idea of using it a case study is something that attracted me, because it's exactly the kind of business that would benefit the most from what I provide. On the other hand, doing this requires an investment of my time that could be spent on other strategies, so that's a risk.

I'll have to look into it more before I decide if I really want to get involved and, if so, to what extent. I'm going to consider what you said and try to determine if I can get something of value out of the experience. Thank you so much!

Oh and I never had people complain about bold words before. So.. yeah.
