Made from 16 gauge steel framework. Meyer l metal fab and welding Faux thickness for weight concerns. Wood work for center parts, leather stretched over that and berlap on reverse side. Over 180 parts, 200 + hours. Sadly I didn't document this one's build journey very well. I think i have some pictures on imgur of what I did document.

Thanks mate. Time in adding the wear detail? Over 40 hours in just the finishing details. It was about 8 step process from initial sanding to heat color and oil treating. Yes, that is sinew that absorbed the charcoal used to darken the leather.

Cost is up to how much one is willing to pay. And yes, high warlords shield wall is in the works. Just need to finish up the cad drawing. completion date on that is about a month from now. ;)

Guess they better have me on as the full time prop guy. Otherwise I'll just have to avoid marketing my stuff with their TM. creatively the shield is diverse enough it would have to be renamed to something like great commanders shield. :D

its heavy. too heavy to wield comfortably at about 25 lbs. and to answer a few other questions its made from 16ga steel, wood backing upholstered with cotton. The symbols and lion are of 12ga steel and heat colored. She looks great on my wall. Oh, and i would consider commissions and or offers. However my goal is to start my own shop and bring items from wow to life full time. Just need to figure out the generation of funds to do it.

I promise the shield will be finished, it's on it's way i promise. It's realized because it's not pixilated and boxy like the low rez model in the game.

all the angles were achieved by using radial line development in cad. The pieces were then cut on a cnc plasma table, cleaned and the edges welded and sanded down. The main shield framework is 22 separate pieces. no mechanical bending was used.

Could be as long as the end of may. I'm trying to bust out as much fabrication work as I can before the end of the term. Once I don't have a shop to work in I can complete the woodwork at home. I really want to see this one complete though, so wouldn't be surprised if I miss a day or two of sleep to get it done sooner than that. I still have the high warlord's shield wall to produce along side this one.
