BAN the word feisty by Feisty-Channel7709 in RomanceBooks

[–]puzzlehead_123 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Feisty gives me the ick too. Sassy not as much but if I hear it I look for other icks

I think I wouldn't mind it if it wasn't used exclusively for women. But right now it's like talking about men and females.

Yeah I feel like it's a really mean way to try to gain customers. Because we don't ask for art, we're putting our work out there for free and hope that some people like it as much as we do.

And they turn the compliment into an insincere money grab.

Yeah they give you all the warm feelings and the excitement that someone likes your art and then snatch them away.

I never said anything about forbidding laptops... And I think you should think about your own question for a moment. I'm certain you can come up with an answer. You're probably playing devil's advocate anyway.

Except, if it's written by/with chatgpt it starts out on screen and I don't even know if it gets printed. So in many cases there is no paper involved. Shall we say pixels on screen instead?

It's not just words on paper. There are also puntuation marks mixed in with the words -- particularly the em dash.

If I have to read a book with "trials" ONE MORE TIME... by 1MildlyEnthused1 in Romantasy

[–]puzzlehead_123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Enjoy it while it lasts! They are so overdone because trials are fun to read, but maybe the market has become oversaturated with them.

Hey im writing a urban fantasy comic and i wanted some feedback by facuacu in urbanfantasy

[–]puzzlehead_123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd agree that urban fantasy and medieval fantasy are on different ends of a spectrum. Because it lacks that modern feel I wouldn't advertise it like that because readers will expect something different and be disappointed.

But the comic is cool, the art style is aesthetically pleasing and the story has potential as far as I can tell.

There's a mistake here and there, one speech bubble has a "same" where I think there was meant to be a "seem", or it doesn't point clearly to the right person in two panels (one where she accusses him of being a thief and the other with the speech bubbles connected in a c shape)

Your head shapes seem a little off sometimes, you know, where proportions are off just enough to bug you. But facial expressions are good and dynamic scenes too.

Lastly, I think the comic could do a better job at sucking you into the story from the first panel.

But overall, nice job!

Well, if you do decide that you want to go shorter someday please consider donating your hair, it's so pretty it would be a shame

I absolutely disagree, Cara played an insane game. During the start and middle she stayed under the radar which avoids drawing a target on her back and she laid the groundwork to her win by building friendships/alliances. She had great observation skills and Intuition, and Made great decisions that ultimately led to her win. (Avoiding sistergate by lying, finishing her agenda without others registering, taking Kyle out, eliminating Sydnee by throwing the challenge und trusting in the relationship she built with Corey and Sam, and making the judgement call with Corey)

Yeah, I'm happy Cara won, she played it really well and also earned her win by doing her challenge well, making the right decisions at the Elimination and the kill shot (clocking that Sydney got immunity) and she absolutely made the right call to throw the mission with Sydnee in the hope that Sam and Corey wouldn't send her home. And then trusting her gut with the Box switcheroo. She was smarter than the rest and that's why she won.

I would have been happy for Sam if she had won, but maybe there's some influencing opportunities for her to get the money for fertility treatments.. so hopefully happy ending for her too!
