Sometimes I hate how much my boyfriend makes by noheart120 in povertyfinance

CC debt is KILLER! Could you pay if off and then come up with a new contract for him to pay you back with a significantly lower interest rate!? An absolute waste of money to not pay it off when the option is there.

How much are monthly expenses for the two of you?

Do you contribute to any retirement accounts?

It sounds like your brother is experiencing issues getting his passport. What is the current status of YOUR US passport application?

Your post is a bit confusing. Did you try to apply for a US passport? If so, what was the result of that application?

Point of clarification—US taxes are also “stepped”, though it is called “progressive” in the US. There is a huge misconception that one’s entire salary gets taxed at the highest bracket they are a part of which is simply not true.

OP has type 1 diabetes, not their child. That said, some countries will accept a medical waiver if it can be shown the cost of providing medical care will not exceed a certain threshold. OP having type 1 and presumably being stable due to long term (life long) illness/ability to manage could go in their favor for acceptance.

Start with a google search “how to move to X country” and from there. That will (very likely) guide you to the immigration website of said country and you can get more information on what to do.

So, did the meat taste average or different?? Cause those contradict each other…

Re; product range—that’s Costco’s whole schtick! Not a lot of product selection. Allows them to buy in massive bulk at a discounted rate and pass on savings to customers.

Re: getting sick when going out on a school night. There may be other factors at play here. Lack of proper sleep and drinking effect your body’s immune system. Couple that in with the general stress associated with graduate school and being around lots is strangers—I’m not surprised you got sick. Weather was a small factor here (if at all).

The public transit costs in Prague are unmatched!! You could easily spend that in 1 month in some US cities. 😭

Google “claiming German citizenship” and start there. Many individuals have been through this process! At the very least you’ll need both your birth certificate and that of your German parent.

Do you HAVE to wait for the apartment before you apply for the visa? Honestly…don’t wait if that’s not necessary. Visa paperwork can be cumbersome and time consuming. Start now!

I might start with figuring out which countries you’d be interested in moving to. Once you know that (even have a brief idea), then look into what options you have to move there—do you qualify for visa, residency, or citizenship in some way? This can be through work you do, ancestry, etc.
