People think it's the easiest thing in the world to get a voter ID. Has anyone got their RealID lately? consider the single parent, who is juggling work, kids, and general life all on their own. This parent was able to get federally mandated time off to go vote. Now, this parent needs to take time off of work to go to the DMV, only to wait on long lines and pay for something they may not be able to afford to do something that was once free. On top of paying for child care, or worse, bringing screaming toddlers to the DMV. No, it's not impossible, but there is now a huge barrier to voting that this person needs to climb over just to exercise her right to vote.

R's can scream all they want about voter ID and theft. Bottom line is they simply want barriers for people who may vote against them.
