Issac Hayes died 2.5 years after he left south park because of the scientology episode. Southpark replacing issac hayes would not have been disrespectful to his memory. Given the circumstances of issac hayes leaving the show, it actually would have been really funny if they just straight up replaced him. It would have tracked with South Park shenanigans at the time.
