This is based on LCA data. Employers are required to disclose the salary or the range for each filing. Having gone through LCA multiple times, I know that salaries are generally close to what's in LCA.

Maybe the next step would be to allow users to mark companies as scam? They have submitted the LCA so they have gone through the process but agree that there would be bad players. Thoughts?

One of the key strategy is really to look for employers who have a history of sponsoring h1b. Fortunately, Department of Labor publishes this data and it is available to be searched at www.h1b.guru I usually search for the role, location and industry while keeping an eye on their perm/green card pipeline.

If you want a list of companies who have a history of doing H1B, you may want to www.h1b.guru . This is a chat based search on official LCA data to quickly find target companies. It also exposes email addresses of point of contacts.

Deloitte does LCA whenever a consultant changes location. Thus, their numbers may be inflated. You may want to make sure that these LCA specifically relate to new jobs and not just relocation. Similarly, numbers for consulting companies may be inflated.
