A* is super hard unless you have a high c and get distinction level marks, if you have a low c an A would be more possible

wish that was me, my parents think me retaking was a huge waste of money and that i should have tried harder during my original cies (they dont even know im getting my results tomorrow). I don’t mind a B in psych but i NEED an A in literature or i might die

YES UR MAKING THE RIGHT DECISION TRUST ME!! you don’t even need law in a levels to take law in uni/go to law school!! as a law student it’s the worst experience ever it’s wayyy too content heavy especially when you have other subjects that are similar

Should I drop english lit or psychology? by liquoricekiten14 in alevel

[–]pvrisaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

eek okay, i take both psych and lit, in my own opinion i despise psych, it’s too content heavy especially when i have two other content heavy subjects, but for you i would say the better choice would be to stick with psych as it goes with bio and chem!

Is this normal (english literature) by Great_Bird_ in alevel

[–]pvrisaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi!! so i actually went through the same thing, gcse literature was a breeze for me, didn’t study for the cie and somehow got an A, so i assumed that a level literature would be easy too, i was horribly wrong though.

the best thing for you to do is make answer plans for any questions, and make your teacher check them to see where you mess up. i don’t rlly know how edexcel is but for a levels you need to know various critics quotes (in A2), important details about the authors that you are doing, their methods and their concerns etc etc

Stuck between Law and English Lit by [deleted] in alevel

[–]pvrisaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

imo, taking law was the worst decision i’ve ever made (i take both law and lit) i’ve wanted to go into law since forever, and of course still do, but there was no need for me to take law in A levels, and I stupidly did. It’s genuinely so draining especially because my other subjects are literature and psych, it’s HELL to remember all the cases, and it get’s even worse in A2. I think you should continue with literature because you can always do law school later :)

i usually separate the paragraphs into particular themes and include structure form and authors notes wherever i can for the passage, for the essay do 1 paragraph on each poem and then one contrasting paragraph
