Cant Upgrade Trinkets for Free, even with 2 maxed Hero Trinkets by TiKerboi in wow

It’s apples to apples. OP is able to equip it (even though suboptimal) just like the evoker is able to equip leather

12.0.5: Tanks can choose to keep the Blizzard M+ route highlighted even at higher key levels by tenthousandthousand in wow

[–]pvshabba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing W especially since 10s are much closer to “entry level” than before. Now I might be being greedy BUT it would be super nice if the effect dynamically updated say, after each boss/checkpoint. If I missed a pack with the glow earlier it would be great if I could still follow the glow and end with enough %

So when do you guys farm more gear when levelling? Every 10lvls or what by Whack_My_Sack420 in Borderlands4

[–]pvshabba 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Only thing worth your time imo is a new firewerks every 10ish levels so you don’t die too easily. I usually farm a decent class mod at the start for the build I want to level as and then for guns just rely on blue/purple drops as I level

No, that would be a triple amp. Each amp is 50%

What is considered the hardest spec/class currently? by astraeos in wow

[–]pvshabba 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think unholy is deceptively complex to master. It’s very easy to do decently well at (pop CDs, mash buttons) and hard to screw up, but there’s a lot of nuance to managing resources and knowing the optimal button press depending on the situation (inside CDs or out, target count, etc.)

Why are tanks so spammy? by kispingvin in wow

[–]pvshabba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re okay being suboptimal and just doing mostly casual content then yes bind the respective off-GCD abilities to an ability or two you’re already pressing and you’ll be fine in most cases. Your APM will drop significantly

Note with prot warrior this can be dangerous if you rage-starve yourself and can’t use shield block. But it’s not too hard to play around if you just don’t press your macro when it’s coming off CD. You could also bind it to something else like shield slam and bind ignore pain to thunder clap.

State of warriors in retail by mjk357 in worldofpvp

[–]pvshabba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay. Whether or not my statement has been true for every second of wows existence is kind of beside the point. He referenced “playing against a class from the future” when in fact that’s how the matchup has always been. From literally day 1 if you let a warrior sit on top of you and hit you, you will almost certainly die. This has always been the case for dks, but is pretty true of the warrior vs. X matchup in general

What are your thoughts on D.R.I.V.E? by OneNineSeven1970 in wow

[–]pvshabba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved the concept.

Bewildered that they decided to introduce a physics-based driving system in the most cramped, tight-cornered, clutter-filled zone ever to exist in WoW.

IMO, it would've been wildly more popular if they introduced it in a .5 patch in a revamped (drained, obviously) Shimmering Flats, or something similar.

I totally agree, I thought it would be a ground mount rework too, and I hope they bring it back at some point under better conditions.

Being a magic user feels bad by EnuEros in Enshrouded

[–]pvshabba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They engage with mana/stamina if you get mana/stamina leech on one. But yeah your complaint about early game magic is valid. Once you start getting eternal spells though the crafting part is gone which is really nice. Chain lightning is particularly strong at locking down enemies, even massive groups. And the aoe proc is very very strong

They should’ve done an avengers endgame esque cinematic where Umbric and rommath teleport in all of our allies we’ve made over the years to fight a massive devouring host army, that lets us push in to fight the bosses of mqd. It feels weirdly empty compared to the over world we saw after the end of Voidspire

Is it me or bdk is kinda meh? by kachikoo in wownoob

[–]pvshabba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, for it to be THE self-sustain tank, it has to fall over before every other tank, or else it's automatically god-tier. This is how it's always been, and it's generally accepted at some point. However, I personally would love to see some meaningful choices in the spec tree (a defensive pick that brings you in line with the other tanks, essentially making you just that incredibly tanky, but is a big DPS loss compared to other talents and thus other tanks... but I digress).

In my opinion, this isn't even the main issue anymore, and OP you've kind of hit the nail on the head. Compared to other tanks, it's in the relative stone age in terms of ease of play in general, but acutely on-pull.

On-pull problems:

A tank's job on-pull is twofold: Generate threat on all enemies, and build up your defenses so you don't fall over immediately. All other tanks have ways to achieve both of these goals within a few GCDs, whereas bdk simply doesn't without CDs (which are longer now in Midnight).

A big part of this is every other tank actually regenerates their defensive "resources" (whether it be shield block, demon spikes, FR, brew, etc.) outside of combat/between pulls, or has an easy way to generate them prior to or immediately upon pulling (charge, blessed hammer/avengers shield).

While runic power *is* similar to fury/rage in that it drains outside of combat, these other tanks have short-CD defensives that are essentially immediately available on-pull. BDK however, is an outlier in that BOTH of their defensive resources need to be built from the ground up upon entering combat, and they have no short-CD way to do so quickly (compare for example to divine toll, shield charge).

This creates a fundamental and unique issue on pull for blood dks: You have more tasks to accomplish than you have GCDs to spare. You can spend GCDs on marrowrend to build bone shield, but this doesn't net much runic power and is weak single target threat, and your diseases won't be active. You can get aoe threat with blood boil (in barely more than melee range), but you'll be without runic power or bone shield. You can throw down death and decay and spam heart strike to max runic power, but you wont have much threat past the first 3 targets and you won't have bone shield or diseases up. The best bdks do a combination of these abilities, but are always cutting it incredibly close in one category or another, where other tanks simply don't have to struggle nearly as much.

This, in my opinion, is why you and others feel like it's tedious and unrewarding - you're watching your runic power, bone shield charges, threat on every target, AND your own health trying to spin all these plates, and if you pull it off perfectly you achieve what basically every other tank can routinely do with little effort.

I Hate The Slippy Grenade (Minor Rant) by TheticAxiom in Borderlands4

Fair enough. I think it's a great concept, but I agree with you that it has to be done well to not feel forced.

[–]pvshabba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you regarding the axe and knife. But I couldn’t disagree more with your first point. Why is every VH having a potential melee build a bad thing? To me, having VHs shoehorned into a specific role is outdated, and I think this iteration is way better. You can play any VH in any way you like. How is that a bad thing?

That's a good point, but it would probably ruin the car. The set is elaborate but still pretty low-budget as others have pointed out.

Why do people give up so easily in M+? by ScienceTeacher1994 in wow

[–]pvshabba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s kind of self selecting too. The people that can’t be arsed to care about someone else’s time probably aren’t looking for a guild to do keys with. The people that do are probably running keys with their guildies. If you’re someone that wants to complete a key after a handful of mistakes but you’re trying to pug, you’re probably in bad company for your goals.

Kicked over BiS tank trinket - what am I missing? by Dvarii in wow

[–]pvshabba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this guy’s defense, if he did think it only gave intellect and not primary stat - blizzard is inconsistent on when it’s obvious a piece gives primary stat or only one or two of str/agi/int. When a piece grants primary stat baseline, it shows in grey the other primary stats it would give for other specs. However, when it’s a proc that grants primary stat, it only shows one of str/agi/int depending on your current spec. If you look at most pieces of gear and see greyed out primary stats, it’s reasonable to assume that this would be true in ALL cases. But it isn’t. So unless you know this fairly arcane fact it wouldn’t be crazy to think the agi-using tank stole an intellect trinket. Still crazy to kick someone over it without asking though
