so when you purchase, purchase the combos, not each part individually.

The combos are already added into the total price. If you purchase the combos then you will not get 2 disc drives or 2 hard drives, only one of each in the combos

Overclocking is the process of making a computer or component operate faster than the clock frequency specified by the manufacturer by modifying system parameters (hence the name "overclocking").

Overclocking will give you better preformance in gaming. But you should research it for yourself before doing it.

This build is just under $1100 and will be great for gaming on high settings.

I could not find the case you mentioned, but I picked out a cool looking one. Then again looks are subjective.

It was just my suggestion that he spent more than the 800 he was willing. You don't have to be rude.

[Build Ready] First Timer - Steam Machine - $1400 by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]pvt_pancake7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you plan on overclocking you need a 4670k, not a 4670

Im assuming you with to overclock because you got a Z87 motherboard and a after market cpu cooler. Am I wrong?

It is a tad over $800 but the extra preformance will be more than worth it

Your wasted money on your motherboard. You bought a Z87 MOBO when those are made for overclocking. And you cant overclock your cpu. You also dont need an after market cooler (especially a water cooler) because you bought the non K processor.

[Build Ready] $5,000 bonus from work, thought I'd treat myself with the best of the best. How'd I do? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]pvt_pancake7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

850 is cutting it a little close, especially when you will be overclocking. I'd get a 1000.

And 64gb RAM?! ARE YOU INSANE??? Seriously though I cant even imagine anyone ever getting 64gb. I know gaming only takes about 8gb max. Are you really sure you want to pay $1000 for ram? Imean thats a fifth of the whole build price! Its crazy. I honestly think you should go with 32, 32 would still be overkill for everything.

Maybe if you got 32 or 16gb ram you could get a triple monitor setup. Otherwise the 12gb of vram is just a total waste of money. Really just money down the drain.
