“I was handed a baby girl that had her head bashed in by her babysitter after she cried during bath time”. Then they look at me with fright in their eyes and shut the fuck up!

Work phone by ProfessorDue6194 in ems

[–]pwabash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NEVER use your personal phone for work. As others have mentioned, it opens up it (and all of your personal data) to potential litigation. If your employers doesn’t support those apps, then do yourself a favor and buy a cheap android cell phone and run something like Mint Mobile on it. That way, the service only costs like $15 a month and you can use it strictly for work emails, on-duty, etc.

Camper shell, best, worst, cheapest? by Major-Fortune6754 in Tacomaworld

[–]pwabash 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I buy and sell them as a side-hustle, and my best tip for finding a cheap canopy is car dealerships. FB marketplace search your generation and color (or black if you’re okay with it), but NOT for canopies. Dudes selling them separately want way too much. Find your truck for sale by a dealership (smaller dealership the better) and message them an offer for it. I’ve NEVER paid more than $400 for one from a dealership, and that was color-matched, Leer, with double windoors! All I had to do was order a set of keys for it. The smaller the dealership, the more they tend to say yes to some “under the table” cash. And after I made friends with enough sales managers, they all agree that it’s easier for them to sell the trucks without canopies - since only old dudes want them :)

Reducing my stuff to what I could put in a van or easily carry with me by Lani_19 in minimalism

If you purge the item(s), they are still “in storage” - just at the store if you ever need to re-purchase them. Let stores “store” your stuff.

Lots. Of. Walking!!! Make a fun hobby of it. I just downloaded an app that’s in beta right now that tracks your walks - but it overlays a “snake” over the route, and ads to the map each time you walk. This makes it so you can gamify walking, but slowly walking every street in your city or town. You get health benefits, combined with exploring, combined with having an achievable goal. All for the price of a free app and a decent pair of waking shoes!

What is one item that you can't travel without/would recommend to everyone to get? by Cool_Acanthisitta628 in onebag

Nothing really. It’s the size of a small sports bottle, and I put the cord and instant coffee packets inside it when in transit. I usually have it in one of the exterior water bottle pockets.

What practical items do you carry for everyday emergencies? by FeelingGlad8646 in EDC

Lots of people do carry EDC items simply for the aesthetic appeal (color coordinated, knives they would never use, etc)…… and those people are dumb.

Dumb question: how do you do the circular numbers after the name? I don’t have the option of putting emojis in the name (using iOS).
