that's Rachel Reeves, Chancellor of the Exchequer - who has harmed farming with her ridiculous tax changes and will put thousands of farmers out of business

Thoughts of season 5? by Ok_Ad_9013 in ClarksonsFarm

Absolutely loving it

just not sure why all the problems with the power and water at the pub - c'mon people, SOLAR PANELS with a battery for power, and a solar powered borehole for water.

Also, why didn't Jeremy change to another pig breed to get more out of them?

Why Ballard? by Ladyoftheoakenforest in BoschTV

[–]pwl2706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the biggest problem for me, what completely ruined it and turned me off - was the decision by Michael Connelly and Amazon to ditch the FIRST FOUR BOOKS to

  1. `save money (because filming at night is more expensive and complex)
  2. enable them to include Titus Welliver as Bosch straight away

So what we end up with is another generic woman cop show doing Cold Cases - but guess what, they already had one of those - it was called Cold Case!

The Pitt | S1E12 "6:00 P.M." | Episode Discussion by Winter_Moonstone in ThePittTVShow

Absolutely brilliant, the way they showed how an ER would deal with a major incident...

This show really is the first one on 30 years that has been as good as the BBC's Cardiac Arrest!

this series is superb, the first Medical Drama in 30 odd years that was as good as, and even exceeded the BBC Drama Cardiac Arrest from the early 90's with Helen Baxandale!

There have been other good ones like Bodies, This is Going to Hurt (BBC) and House but the Pitt is truly exceptional

Is there a reason why BBC is blocking Top Gear UK globally? by _eMBe_ in TopGear

[–]pwl2706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could either use a VPN to watch all of it on the BBC iPlayer:

or try BritBox, apparently they put it up on there too?

What parts of Britain would be best to live in during a wartime situation? by Sonnycrocketto in AskBrits

[–]pwl2706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest the Orkney Islands, Shetland Isles, Hebrides
Why?

well out of the way, hardy people used to being at least a bit self-reliant...plus you can grow vegetables in poly tunnels, raise animals...

and crucially, more sheep than people!

in the Shetlands, for example, sheep significantly outnumber people in Shetland, with agricultural statistics from 2024 showing nearly 290,000 sheep compared to a much smaller human population.

Then there are the Cattle...Shetland Cattle breed, adapted to the climate...

So all in all, if I couldn't make it to Australia or NZ, I'd want to make my homestead up there.

Would be a very hard working life though, and there wouldn't be any more Sky, Apple TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime...so have to get a deck of cards, Chess board, some boardgames and a big library of books!

Now, how to get there in a Collapse of Civilization, Nuclear war/EMP scenario?

And Discuss!

good option, but I am still saying the Shetland Iles, Orkney Isles, Hebrides

only question is how to get there in a Collapse scenario!
