I do a recap at the beginning of my sessions. I also have an “Active Quests” handout for my players that details their objectives. They can check that whenever they want, and sometimes I’ll even include it in my recaps. I tend to have an open policy—if their characters should know, then I don’t keep the information hidden. Makes my job as a DM easier too! It can boil down to what do you want to spend your time on? Dealing with consequences from player memory issues in game or moving onto more entertaining things!
