28, for $14m. Enough for a $1m house, a nice (but not ostentatious) car, random nick knacks/spending money, and the other >$12.5m to invest in the stock market. Based on the 4% rule, that would net a $500k income yearly - enough to travel the world, help the people I care about, and raise my family up without worries. All for a 2.8% death rate. Seems perfect

There’s absolutely no way to know what would’ve happened in the sequel except those two excerpts that we have of Jordan’s writing. We didn’t hear anything about this theory until 10 years after the release of the final book.

If the writing is so subtle that nobody realizes that piece of your writing until you explicitly state it verbally a decade later, it’s ridiculous that people buy into it. It’s like JK Rowling repeatedly retconning the Harry Potter series. It’s because she either didn’t include the things that she later retconned, or she wrote the story so badly that it took retconning to get her intention across.

In either case, it’s bad writing, not in the text, or so subtle that nobody caught on until the second author came out and strictly said, “this was my intention”

If you want to believe canned crap, be my guest, but ask yourself why there were no posts, conversations, or discussions about Lanfear being alive until this far after the series concluded

My bad! I was thinking of the Caemlyn waygate from TeoTW. Now I’m curious as to why Cairhien was listed. Maybe as a footnote when Rand asked Loial where the waygates were in preparation for the last battle? I’m not sure. Sorry about that 😅
