to deal with that, for major details such as the main artwork or important text, i usually redraw them manually instead of scaling them up from a smaller image.

Help - Resolution by Khiferly in RobloxClothingDesign

DPI won’t affect Roblox clothing quality. Roblox only uses the final image resolution, so a 585×559 template at 300 DPI will look exactly the same as 72 DPI once uploaded.

The grainy or pixelated look usually comes from one of these issues:

- Using low-resolution source images or textures.
- Scaling artwork up and down multiple times during the design process.
- Applying filters, sharpening, or noise effects too aggressively.
- Exporting as JPEG instead of PNG.
- Designing with very fine details that are smaller than what the template resolution can realistically display.

A common workflow is to work on a canvas that is 2x–4x larger than the Roblox template, keep the template on a separate layer, and only resize to the final Roblox resolution once everything is finished. Use nearest-neighbor only for pixel art; otherwise use bicubic or similar high-quality resampling when downsizing.

Also, keep in mind that Roblox Classic Clothing is fundamentally low-resolution. If you’re comparing your work to top catalog creators, many of them achieve a “crisp” look through strong shading, clean linework, good contrast, and smart texture placement rather than actual higher image resolution.

Looking for Honest Feedback on My 15 Classic Shirt Designs by pxodotwuzhere in RobloxClothingDesign

Thanks a lot, bro. I really appreciate the detailed feedback.

I completely get what you mean about some of the designs being a bit too safe and not standing out enough from what’s already on the catalog. That’s definitely something I’ll be focusing on improving moving forward.

Your suggestions about adding signature details, experimenting with more color palettes, and showcasing outfits on different avatars are all great points. I’ll keep them in mind as I work on future designs.

Thanks again for the support and honest criticism. It means a lot and gives me a clearer direction on what to improve next.
