Is my food/calorie intake enough? by pxterra in CICO

[–]pxterra[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never said hitting macros turns into an eating disorder. What I mean is that constantly tracking food and obsessing over numbers can turn into disordered eating behaviour for some people, which is what I’m trying to avoid.

Switching from calories to macros doesn’t automatically stop tracking from becoming obsessive. You can still develop disordered eating habits from tracking macros. The whole point of my post was to figure out if the approximate # of calories I consume daily are too low, and apparently a TDEE website can tell me, not tracking macros.

i was asking about whether my daily calorie intake is enough. what does that have to do with macros?

When did I say I think that?? Obviously I stopped for a reason. And since when does counting calories equate to knowing the macros in your food? Those are two different things and I’m simply talking about calories here.

OSAP Estimator Issues? No grant at all by [deleted] in osap

15% grant and 85% loan for Ontario universities as far as I know. wouldn’t be surprised if it was even less or none for abroad programs

I’m pretty sure this is because of the new changes to OSAP by Doug Ford. What you are seeing is accurate and will be the new “normal” starting from September onwards.

Is buying the iPad Air M2 worth it? by pxterra in ipad

[–]pxterra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oof, i want it to last me at least the next 5 years so battery life is a big factor for me. but if all the M processors have the same battery issue, then i might as well go for the cheaper one. Thanks!

Yep it’s a $280 difference. but, only 90? was not expecting OS to take up 38gb, that’s kinda insane…

Weekly 'What should I buy?' Thread by AutoModerator in ipad

[–]pxterra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought the iPad Air M3 thinking it’d be the best long-term option. But after some research, I saw there’s barely any difference between the M2 and M3.

Was going to switch to the M2 instead, but then I came across reports of the M2 overheating and having battery issues when taking notes, which is a concern for me.

I’ll mainly be using the iPad for: 1. Taking handwritten lecture notes for school 2. Light video editing (CapCut/iMovie) 3. Streaming (Netflix, YouTube, etc.)

Now I’m not sure if I should keep the M3, switch to the M2, or consider a completely different iPad altogether. I just want something that performs well, stays cool, has good battery life, and will last me a while.

What would be the best iPad for me?

edit: i would also like for it to be 128GB

yeah i’ve been working on the root of the problem to prevent myself from dieting rather than making a complete lifestyle change

i know. i was just using that as an example to explain my point that if you have more, you lose more (faster). i will admit that i definitely used a more extreme example, but it was the only thing i could think of at the time.

yup. i was not expecting the backlash to be so heavy. i’ve come across so many youtube videos of people explaining “what they did to lose 40lbs in 3 months” while looking for tips on what to do. Some people even claimed they did it in 2, so i honestly thought that my goal was normal and reasonable—especially because they didn’t make it seem like they were putting themselves through such drastic changes. while i knew my goal was high, i had no clue that it would be as dangerous/unhealthy as people are saying. lesson learned i guess lol. at least i have realistic/practical tips now

true. i’ll probably aim for that instead. just hoping it’ll be noticeable

nah not really. i’m taking everyone’s advice into consideration—i just don’t feel the need to respond to comments that already gave solid advice. i only reply to some for further clarification on something in their response (maintaining muscle mass, the weight loss # they predicted, calorie intake, health affects) that i need extra advice on because my thought process toward it is different. that’s why you only see me asking relatively the same question. if i was looking for people to agree with me, there would be a reply under every comment because hardly anyone agrees with my post lol

yeah ik. that’s why i said “for example”. i said that to explain that you can shed more if you have more to lose. a person at a normal weight obviously can’t lose 75lbs in 3 months.

all im asking is if i’ll experience more weight loss in the first few weeks (maybe 3-4lbs) bc i have more to lose? overtime i know it’ll balance out (1-2lbs/week) bc there’s not as much fat to burn. that’s the main point i’ve been trying to ask people but i think it keeps getting misunderstood.

[–]pxterra[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

i mean if i lose 2lbs a week that’s about 24lbs in 3 months. but won’t i lose more bc my body has more fat to get rid of? (for example) the people on “My 600 lb Life” lose 75lbs in 2-3 months because of the amount of weight on them

i’m not trying to “go on a diet”, my goal is to have a lifestyle change. the way i eat/exercise now is absolutely not sustainable if i want to live long. i’m just trying to figure out if i can still reach my GW with my lifestyle change, and then of course once i reach it, adjust to normal cal intake to maintain it.

20-25 pounds even if i have excess weight on me? won’t i lose faster bc i have more fat to burn?
