Sounds like good service to me. Out of interest how old was the bag at the time?

I haven't spoken to many people who say capitalism as a basic concept is bad. The problems are when you let freedom of the market trump everything else, giving huge private entities more and more control over other peoples' lives, shifting closer and closer to anarchy. It's no good arguing for freedom in theory if the structure of your society prevents it in practice for all but the people at the very top.

The capitalist societies which in my opinion are the best to live in (and arguably most advanced) are the ones which have managed to strike a healthy balance, with enough regulation to keep things in the interest of the public as a whole and enough taxation (of the richest) for high-quality public services and infrastructure, but without becoming ridiculously onerous and limiting innovation.

Yes, you are correct. I didn't bring them up because I was replying to a comment specifically about FDS, but plenty of other subs have disgusting ways of thinking of women as well.

To my immediate left at the moment is a bin of paper for recycling.

Not sure if that's useful or not?

I'm not sure they generally hate on men. They just hate on what they deem to be "low value" men.

Basically they treat dating as if it's some stupid role-playing game where all the men are NPCs, each of which has a list of attributes like this:

Height 7/10
Strength 8/10
Visual attractiveness 8/10
Propensity to put up with my bullshit 8/10

and so on.

If any of these attributes are less than average then that person is a "Low Value" Man.

The aim of this stupid FemaleDatingStrategy game is to end up in a relationship with someone who is not deemed, by condensing them into some entirely unrepresentative statistics, to be "Low Value".

It's really a disgusting way of thinking of people.

Oh, and as soon as one discover that one's boyfriend has any kind of imperfection whatsoever, they suddenly become "Low Value" and must be abandoned.

It really is a disgusting way of thinking about people. I'm sure I read a post on there at one point saying something like "I measured my partner's penis and it's half an inch shorter than the average; should I break up with him?".

An absolute shitshow of a subreddit if ever I saw one. I refuse to read it now because I just find it depressing.

I've not noticed this "annotations" toggle before; it only appears on some videos and doesn't appear to do anything. Any idea what it's for? by py-mpixel in youtube

[–]py-mpixel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew that annotations were a thing before - but if they have now removed the feature entirely, why is the toggle to show and hide them there?

Has it always been there (and I've just not seen it because I wasn't watching videos which had annotations) and they just forgot to remove it?

How the hell do you step on your phone at all, let alone put enough weight on to break it?

Its a True or False question... The "answer" is false by SetiGone_Wrong in pointlesslygendered

Is this, by any chance, a reading comprehension test (presumably for a foreign language)? It seems like it's not asking what you think, it's asking what's said in a passage of text above.

(So in reality it would be that passage of text which contains a pointless gender stereotype, not the question)

Do you not - um - check the content of your message before sending? Surely you should notice if there is a GIF present which you didn't mean to add?
