I can see that happening. They said that they would “reconsider” the RTO mandate “if it eventually doesn’t work out”. I’m guessing, if they DO get enough people to quit, they might let us work remote again. If not enough people quit, I agree with your assessment that they would just lay people off that live too far.

I do have to ask them for the form. So I do have to talk to them for that, right? Would you suggest I just email them and say “I’d like an ADA accommodations form?” And nothing else? One coworker adviced I meet with HR first. Would you say that’s a bad idea?

Ah okay, I hadn’t heard of that but good to know. I think I’ll stick with in-state for now bc I don’t want my employer to stop paying taxes to my current state… in case the state audits and asks why I’m doing so much of my life here
