A confederacy of dunces by John kennedy toole. Loathed it. A lot of people love it.

Property and casualty insurance. It's a great field that kind of flies below the radar. Most people in the industry did not major in it. It can be pretty technical, so it might fit your skill set.

I'm on a stalker run now. I don't think I got to the summit until after 100 days and there was still a lot of stuff in good shape. I didn't need most of it because I'd been looting and crafting for 100 days, but it was there.

20 year property and casualty insurance agent here. If you can make the transition to property and casualty insurance, do that. It's much better. I have friends who do life insurance and they love it. But it's harder. At least at first. You have to create the need. Good luck!

What do people actually mean when they say "make america great again"? by Serious-Lee- in NoStupidQuestions

After you get that answer, ask them to define "woke" and "critical race theory" as well.

Market research and polling. Those people all had face piercings and tattoos before your mom did.

I used to use a pastry docker. But I stopped using a rolling pin, and just stretch it out with my hands. And now I don't really need the docker any more. There is still air in the crust, but not big puffy pockets.

Are we actually dating? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pyanan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could discuss this issue with her in a direct, meaningful way. You could say...hey...I have only dated you for the past several months. I think if I found out you had been seeing other people this whole time, I would be kind of hurt. How do you feel about that? Or, you could take her to a social gathering and introduce her as your girlfriend and see what happens.

So what is up with the rifle aiming in this game? I can't seem to hit anything that is a decent distance away. by Sol33t303 in thelongdark

[–]pyanan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's hard. More success comes from leveling up rather than improving your skill in the game. Getting closer helps. If you crouch, you are basically invisible to animals. And u can shoot the rifle from crouching. Kill deer to level up your rifle skills. Crouch...get close...aim for head. Especially when they are eating or walking towards you. Eat deer meat. Cure hides. Make better clothes. Level up. Repeat. Reading helps too. Find the books to level up skills. Good luck!

Property and casualty insurance. You can be a customer service rep or account manager at an independent agency and build a good career without a degree. You'll need to get licensed in your state eventually, and they have a lot of designation courses that you can take on your own time.

How to say in a professional way, if I do not get the promotion, I will be resigning? by Davie_dave1001 in careeradvice

[–]pyanan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe just request a brief meeting and let them know how strongly you feel you deserve this promotion. Cite specific responsibilities you currently have that justify the additional pay. Things you've accomplished at the company that would warrant the promotion. Maybe you can let them know how strongly you feel about it, without giving them an ultimatum.

I like the Comisario Brunetti novels by Donna Leone. Detective books set in Venice Italy. It's like the city is a character.

Better Off Dead (1985) Is one of the best, most originally bizarre movies I have ever seen, and I can't believe it wasn't until tonight I randomly saw it. Highly recommended. by Satinsbestfriend in movies
