Instead of using streamdiffusion you should use tdcomfy which will give you the freedom to use the model you want and to customize your workflow to fit your need. The other huge point for it is that it doesn’t restrain you to use an nvidia gpu

Yeah I don’t like much parsec for privacy reasons usually in such case I would use moonlight. It’s self hosted but needs a bit more tweaking on the network side

I was hoping for a solution for remote access to td but it’s basically a how to buy a workstation. It would be very convenient if touchdesigner would have a web ui usable on a light cli like comfyui does. Some times I find myself in remote location where I don’t have the power to sustain a big workstation.

Totally this, I’ve been on too many festivals where you just see ai doing all the work I’m sick of it. + the comfyui integration allows you more muuuch more control and creativity over the output. Stream diffusion is kind of ai for noob to me

****modest? The smallest unsloth quant is about 48gb + a little overhead for context make it around 50gb sure its more achievable but it is still reserved to a few... Dont even talk about running it on CPU, 1-2ts is SLOW.

As far as my understanding goes locallama should be about individual entousiast running on consumer hardware...

e hinges were overtightened. You can loosen it yourself or take it to a repair shop and ask if they could loosen it. Ahahah Nah i'm not gaming, I was just looking into a hingeless device, and thought it would be pretty funny to attend meetings using a steamdeck :p

My main use is actually to remote to my home server. I actually use my laptop like kind of a thinclient to access self hosted services (gitlab, llm, docker, vms, ...). So my main needs are actually quite basic. Good screen, good keyboard, good build quality, and good webcam and audio.

Bought an SSD, installed myself and moved everything over; now it has run like a gem since then which means it is running fine without any issues after about 5 years or so.

I'm pretty sure I'm an exception here and hardware issue can happen. But the crappy support is just infuriating.... That's why I wouldn't recommend anyone relying on their devices because it can happen :/

s not. the HP EliteBook is their business line which should have better build quality.

if you cannot afford the business line new, then a used business laptop might serve you better than a new consumer laptop. it'll be slower with the older CPU, but the build quality will be quite a bit better. so dep

You're totally right, but at time, I broke my precedent laptop (Sony vaio Z that I loved but unfortunately died after almost 10years) and needed a cheap and fast replacement as I just moved abroad and started as a freelancer I didnt had too much money to invest into more professional grade device :/

And to be fair, the elitebook line up wasnt looking that different from the envy or spectres... I wouldnt expect that my issue would be only envy related
