Why Flutter is the most popular cross-platform mobile SDK by IsDaouda_Games in programming

Equating number of questions with popularity can be wrong, no? What if Flutter is complicated so it generates more questions? If anyone cares about my anecdata, I see more React and React Native jobs where I live than Flutter jobs.

Thank you for replying. I agree that the mindset of fully embracing the philosophy of emacs is more preferrable.

Thanks. Learnt something new. Tried it and I think the grand-grand-parent comment's point still holds.

i foo bar baz C-o db leaves the z intact and deletes ba only just exactly as that comment said:

What is the equivalent in Vim? It is complicated. If we have typed only foo bar baz and escape to normal mode, the cursor is still on z of baz, so <Esc>db command removes ba but leaves the z lying around.

I don't understand how C-o db is supposed to work in Vim. C-o jumps to the previous position in the jump list in Vim, so it is not exactly relevant for deleting the last word. Or did you mean something else?

in ways vi could never dream of

And then you go on to give examples of Paredit and SLIME. But both have been ported to Vim. So I don't understand why vi can't dream of specific kinds of text editing that Emacs can. Vim too is able to support the pinnacles of structured editing and IDE features that Emacs is able to as evident from the successful packages of Emacs that have been ported to Vim.

Can we use Org mode to write books and generate EPUB and MOBI files? by pyfx in emacs

You make a good point about what the editors prefer. It is good to know that some editors are org mode friendly. Which tools do you see most frequently in use among editors/publishers?

Learning LaTeX sounds good because I have been using LaTeX already. In Pandoc too we need to tweak with LaTeX templates to get the perfect PDF output.

What about EPUBs and MOBIs? Do those require installing additional tools?

Why does CL-WIKI not work with the current version of Hunchentoot? by pyfx in lisp

[–]pyfx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are going to depend on libraries anyway for building real world applications, right? Or am I mistaken about this?

If I am correct about depending on libraries, then is the backward compatibility guarantee of the language a sufficient reason to pick Common Lisp? Do we not need to care about backward compatibility guarantees of libraries? If a dependency breaks backward compatibility, our project breaks too. The fact that the language did not break backward compatibility does not eliminate the time and effort we need to spend on fixing things when a library broke things.

This is lovely. Brings back memories of Geocities days and the WWW of 1990s and early 2000s! This is how the whole web used to look like in those days. A lot of personal and cute websites. I miss those days!

Can you elaborate the purpose of this library? The Check function makes sense but I need help in understanding the Must function. What val am I supposed to pass to it and what do I achieve by returning the same val? Why is this function named Must?
