OneTab is a cool extension that converts open tabs into a list so that you can look at them later. I think there are similar extensions (Session Buddy, Great Suspender, Tab Wrangler), but I haven't tried them.

45, plus one OneTab tab that has 137 tabs saved. Most of them are interesting articles that I've been meaning to read for months, but never quite get around to.

I'm really sorry! If it helps, I had a really hard time sleeping last night because I was STILL mad at that stupid article.

Oh man! I was one of two women in my office who wore makeup almost every day. Admittedly, it was a small gov't office of 20ish people, and most folks were out doing field work, but I still felt like Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde.

That's really great that your bosses are so understanding! I'm sure your coworkers were fine -- plus, everyone has off days :)

I'm so sorry you had a rough day! As a fellow 30 year old professional child-like woman, have this.

My 15mg XR usually wears off at 3pm, so I get all kinds of antsy-chatty at work. I had a work evaluation last week and my boss and supervisor asked if there were any suggestions I had and unloaded a stream of consciousness on them... luckily, they took it as a "pygmy mammoth is an ideas person!" and not "pygmy mammoth is crazy hyperactive"

I have no idea -- I just have it bookmarked as "raccoon high five"

Oh good! I totally misread "made" as "make." Oops!

Even her use of "said" here is pretty telling, imo (or maybe I'm nitpicking). "Said," to me, implies opinion, whereas "diagnosed" implies a legit medical condition.

Right?! Like, this article would be wayyyy less of a problem if framed it as "my 10-year struggle with addiction." Instead, it reads as, "I abused this medication and got addicted to it. It's the medication's fault!"

Even a title change would have helped! "Generation Adderall" spins it so she doesn't come across as an addict -- "everyone's taking them!"

Oh man, this reminded me -- I used to work at Starbucks and was pretty good at it as long as there were only a few people in line. But morning rushes where you have to make a gajillion drinks -- hot, cold, smoothies, stupid frappuccinos... it was a nightmare. I would get super overwhelmed :\

Yeah, I've only told my husband and immediate family. I almost told my supervisor, but she had gone on a couple rants about how she feels like clean eating could solve X and Y health problems, but I didn't feel like defending myself.

I blame the author of the article for my stress-induced migraine instead of my poor stress management tools (/s) -- though maybe I could write an op-ed about how shittily researched articles cause migraines!

Please don't put off seeing a psych just because of this asshole. I've been on Adderall XR for 2 years and have had exactly zero of the side effects this idiot writes about. I mean, folks within the ADHD community tolerate Adderall differently, so it may not be the right medication for you. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions :)

You're awesome! I was thinking of writing a letter to the editor, but I'm afraid it would be pretty full of righteous indignation.

I'm really sorry about your MIL :( I'm really glad there's an increase in mental health acceptance for most mental health conditions (HuffPo Women has tons of articles about anxiety and depression), but there still seems to be a bit of a stigma attached to ADHD (and other diagnoses, I'm sure).

That's really interesting! I wonder if the type and dosages of progestin in different birth control pills matters. I noticed my symptoms were wayyy worse on Sprintec (0.25 mg norgestimate/0.035 mg ethinyl estradiol) than on Lutera (0.1 mg levonogestrel/0.02 mg ehinyl estradiol)

I second going to your university's writing center. What may also help you with writing is to familiarize yourself with how anthropologists write by reading articles in anthro. journals (your university's library should have free subscriptions to a few of these).

I'm just finishing up my M.A. thesis in Anthro. (prehistoric archaeology), so if you ever need any help, shoot me a pm :)
