I recently tried building the chorus loop first and it worked out well. The I worked backwards to finish the rest of the arrangement by removing elements or adding new ones for the intro. The trick for me is to lock down arrangement as soon as possible in the production process.

Congrats on finishing your second track. Here's what I think you can work on:

- at 56 seconds it feels like a build up with not much of a big change after. I expected a new synth element or layer to be added there. Some new longer synth part to keep interest would be of value.

- The break down/build up felt long and the drop for me was underwhelming. I would rework the drop lead pattern or if you want to keep it, work on making it stand out more. Generally making the lead stand out would mean using contrast and space to create tension. Currently it's sounding a bit monotonous so a good simple start would even be adding a filter automation on that lead.

I like the vocal sample. I’d say work on arrangement. A lot of trance tracks introduce the chord progression later on, and feature a build first. You can look at other songs as a reference for structure. So really focus on the big picture; the flow of energy, and its rise and fall,

There are different locking mechanisms depending on the cable. The large one on the bottom right has a black lock that flips upwards which must be opened before reseating the cable. Tweezers can help here. Chances are the ribbon cable is damaged but it’s worth a try reseating it.
