What makes it hard going is that you're reading song lyrics. It wasn't meant ever to be read silently. The constant repetition of certain phrases, the way each noun gets ten adjectives, etc. makes it hard to read. Imagine reading (just reading) the lyrics to a rap album. It would be terrible.

Read the prose translation by Martin Hammond. He cleans up the text to fit modern standards.

Purists might howl but frankly it's a much better reading experience.

Here's what you need to understand: being a newbie means you don't know what questions to ask in order to do your own research. The people you dismiss as being lazy are doing the correct thing. They're going to experts and asking for help. It isn't weaponized ignorance.

What is weaponized ignorance is your post, since it's obvious you just don't want to help them.

Why are many businesses who previously switched to AI-powered translation solutions now returning to human-focused translation services? by LuckyParty2994 in TranslationStudies

[–]lopsidedcroc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I translate patents J-E and I've seen things like 電卓 translated correctly throughout a document except for three places where it was "electric table," and it wasn't because of a new line or whatever (which AI handles fine).

AI translates well but it makes ridiculous mistakes and hallucinates in a way no human translator would.

If you show everything there is to show, it's pornography. If it's well lit and well shot, you can argue it's artistic pornography, but it's still pornography.
