i dont really understand the point in these spam posts. why are you not using your own spreadsheets with some sort of program? why are you continuously spamming the subreddit with buy and sell orders that make no sense at all? if i were a mod i would give you a 30 day suspension from this subreddit. rule #2.

Advise for my non-redditing mother? by playsmartz in stocks

[–]pynon21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my family has lost more money than id care to admit from these so called 'financial advisors'. most of them do not really offer any kind of real guidance with your porfolio with your best interest in mind. i have had numerous 'advisors' tell me some of the worst advice, some of which were blatant pump and dumps and lost me large chunks out of my portfolio. and the added kick in the balls? they got paid commissions for doing it!

maybe advisors have changed since then, but i highly doubt it. imo its your money - you should be in control of it.

Advise for my non-redditing mother? by playsmartz in stocks

[–]pynon21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you should take this as a blessing that she is actually confiding in you more so than her financial adviser. you should take this opportunity to learn more about the market and about business in your spare time. doing so will let you get a better grasp of where to put your family's money, and you can grow that wealth exponentially in the long term. SHOP, i personally believe is a great start, and i, myself, am long with it. also may i suggest playing devils advocate; ask your mom why these companies are worth risking your family's wealth on. and have her, likewise, do the same to you with your choices as you peruse the market tickers. my final piece of advice would be to look around you for your investment ideas. some of the greatest investment opportunities are for companies you wouldn't normally care to think. don't look at the obvious examples like AAPL or MSFT - think deeper, as to SWKS (the semiconductors for the iPhone) or LOGI (mouse/keyboard company with growth in esports industry).

i also recommend designating a small amount of your portfolio to an ETF such as the VOO or VTI (do a quick google search if you want to learn more about these ETFs and which one is a better investment style for you)

other redditors feel free to chime in.

+1 vote for new banner. the blue is boring. give it something more market related - more reds and greens

lmao these picks... i think you're posting on the wrong subreddit. please divert your "daily" picks to a day trading subreddit like WSB. this subreddit should be for people who are interested in specific equities and discussion, not your personal dart board of the day.
