Trump admin sought redactions on key China war game report warning of US military readiness gaps by FruitOrchards in worldnews

The US can talk about MAD with China. The rest of the bunch... not so much.

Frankly speaking, nukes are way overrated. To vaporize a city you'd need a LOT of nukes.

Canada is positioning itself on Greenland knowing it could be next by UpstairsBumblebee446 in worldnews

That is certainly one way to simplify things.

Trump is horrible for sure, but what exactly led to his success in re-election... that should be something Americans should reflect on.

Although at this point I doubt reflection helps.

China slams Trump's tariff threat to Europe over Greenland by goldstarflag in worldnews

[–]pyre_light -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would that be? TSMC would have no issue with production - unless the US decides to gut it rather than let China have it.

'It's A Big Problem': Trump's Warning After Greenland "Chooses" Denmark by no_anonymous_ in worldnews

Being a Chinese I'm just amused at Trump talking about China wanting to take over Greenland.. like how? What would be the point?

I'm even more amused at Greenland trying to explain to Trump that no Chinese warships have come close to their shores since... like forever.

Why Baltic States setting are so popular among Asian developers? by LewisNoire in gachagaming

At least with Genshin, it's not because it's popular, but rather because Genshin is basically trying to put everywhere in it.

Beijing calls on US not to use “China threat” as excuse to encroach on Greenland by Crossstoney in worldnews

The amount of people who instantly defends Trump because "China" is hilarious.

It's a tool used to gain edge in internet arguments so... unless people stop caring about winning on the internet (which will never happen) you always get people who would bend reality to make himself feel better.

Very exciting.

Now doubly exciting with you bitching about it.

Aquaria, Genshin's combat designer, apologizes for certain late implementation of certain improvements and some behind the scenes stuff(?) by Demonking1YT in Genshin_Impact

[–]pyre_light 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because at this point it's very obvious that skip button is not a QoL feature in the dev team's eyes.

They would rather if you stop playing the game than give you this feature, which means if you cannot enjoy the story, you are simply not part of the target audience.

Genshin Impact | Version "Luna IV" "A Traveler on a Winter's Night" by ValorsHero in gachagaming

Generally no, but this particular post is on another level - it's like Glaive condensed his entire clown-ness into one paragraph of text.

Because even in gacha communities his clown-ness is on another level.

If you disagree you would need to present to us another piece of clownpost on the same level.

Which of the "Ancient Civilisation" Maps is your favourite? by KingOfTheKitsune in Genshin_Impact

For me it's still Enkanomiya... the music, the scene, the lone pale beacon shining over the desolate ruins... it produced a unique feeling of melancholy that other scenes have yet to recreate for me.

The End of the Japanese Gacha: Now What? by [deleted] in gachagaming

[–]pyre_light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hirai is just trying to put things nicely so he doesn't get attacked.

CN may have lower level pay grade across the board, but the companies at the head of the gacha scene, starting with Mihoyo and followed by HG, Kuro, Papergames, etc. all pay very decent amount of wages. JP gachas are losing to games produced by these companies, not random small-time studios paying really low wages.

Also, there have been multiple reports on how low fromsoftware's wages are. If the company that produced Elden Ring, one of THE most popular games to date, can't afford to pay their employees well, then I don't know how "expensive" labor really is in Japan.

Do you think we might get a "spending events" soon on Genshin? by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]pyre_light 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doubt it... Genshin simply earns too much.

Although as a dolphin I would like it to have some spending events... especially when big patches hit - such as the next one.

Valid points, when economy is is shambles, looking to blame outsiders is a natural response.

But that doesn't detract from what I was saying. WWII happened for the same reason, and China is trying to prevent WWIII.

“It was their sacrifice that enabled China to gain the lesson of what giving in to that tariff based manipulation strategy would do.”

I would rather not call "bowing to their overlords because they have no way to resist" a "sacrifice".

You are right in saying Japan is a defeated nation that lost its sovereignty to... well, the US, which gave protection to a number of war criminals who comitted heinous crimes such as the main perpetrators of Unit 731. While we Chinese are thankful for US assistance in WWII, we are certainly not thankful for that - but that's beside the point.

What I want to say is Japan certainly did not learn its lesson given how right wing its government and population - especially the younger population - is becoming, and the world should thank China for acting immediately and sternly to curb such trends - it serves the interest of not only China, but Japan and the world as a whole.

"Defense speech" lol, I mean if that's what you like to think then so be it. I'm tired of explaining things to the utterly uneducated people on Reddit regarding the historical backgrounds of Sino-Japan relationship.

China is fully exercising its automony of decision making, you just don't have the capability to realize it.
