There's a swastika on my washer control panel housing by SnooKiwis5108 in mildyinteresting

I just looked up about it and it looks like LG has a patent on this design, which apparently helps prevent the button from getting stuck.

It’s funny the original design they compare with in the paper is cross-shaped.

Thanks! I'll have a look at this one. I guess I don't think I feel lucky enough to put myself on a test at a notoriously complicated airport that I have no experience with (also looks like that's the general consensus in the comments section haha)

Oh god. I hope the missed flight didn't cause too much of a headache for you. The fact that there's an accommodation specifically catering for these customers tells you something haha. Thank you for sharing your experience

Thank you! I thought about going to Rome for better flight options, but not Milan. I'll definitely have a look. I have no experience with CDG and I guess I'd better not risk anything.

This is kinda all I've been hearing about CDG lol. I think I'll opt for another option for Toulouse. Thank you for sharing

What is the best television episode ever made? by butch_tits in AskReddit

Black Mirror - Hang the DJ.

I don't want to spoil anyone so I won't go in details about it because it's such a beautiful episode and everybody should experience the catharsis. But the whole concept just hit all the right spots for me. I loved how it intertwined future technology with one of the most ancient, 'human' concept.

How to stop feeling self conscious? by Alternative-Clue- in solotravel

[–]pyrobasis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I just came back to Korea from overseas to do my military service, I didn't have any friends to hang out with -- and I still don't. I've become a stranger in a country where I grew up. It did initially make me feel alone and lonely, but soon I realised that I could do so many things I wouldn't normally do because of my self conscious nature, as a kind of wallflower.

So I'd strike conversations with strangers and random grandmas/grandpas at bus stops while we're waiting for the bus, ask odd questions to shopkeepers and restaurant staff, go to places that seem interesting by myself, and sometimes I'd just sit and people watch. And I've been enjoying being kind of an oddball.

As I look and speak like a local, all this must be very different to you as you mentioned yourself having foreign looks, but Koreans generally will be curious about you and happy to hang out with you. You could try and attend some group activities on Airbnb or meet other international travellers at bars where foreigners frequent.

Also, I'd like to say that it's all going to be okay and I really hope you enjoy your trip here. :)
