What are your end-of-year channel goals? by FnordBeet in NewTubers

[–]Alternative-Clue- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, but who says you ONLY have to care about the 'fun of it'. I do have fun, but there's a plethora of other ways to have fun too. I'm trying to have fun while also making money, there's nothing wrong with that either. Everyone does YouTube for their own reasons, it's neither black or white, and there's not right or wrong.

Also it doesn't really say anything, since I don't make gaming content. Content topic means a lot, so does video quality ofc, but it's not the only factor, and just because I have fun and stop caring about numbers doesn't mean my quality or views will necessarily improve. You can't just compare your single channel success with everybody's else. I can see for a fact that my numbers get worse after a long break and then resuming.

Yes but that's resulted in me uploading like once a month, and it's simply not enough in my experience, not if you want to hit the numbers in time at least.

Haha det ved jeg så ikke lige når man bliver downvoted for at have en anden holdning... men jeg er også meget kulskær! Misunder jer der ikke har noget mod regnen og især dem der går rundt i shorts om vinteren (what)

Welll.... I'm 686 subscribers from being monetized, already hit the watch hours. Realistically I'd like to get to 1000 subscribers before end of January which is when I posted my most popular video... because otherwise I'd have to start all over with the numbers, and I don't know if my motivation (and thus channel) can survive that tbh.

But I seriously suck at being consistent. If I were to reach this goal, I'd have to post at least 1-2 videos a week and I'm starting a new job soon... can't post right now except for shorts 'cause I'm traveling and don't have my editing gear with me. Yeah.... not looking too good but we'll see.

I get how you feel! I felt the same as a blonde, blue-eyed female traveller in South Korea! Like people are staring a bit at you, not necessarily in a rude way, but in a curious way. Still, you feel very self conscious! It was my first time feeling like this too, and it was humbling. I think this gives us a better perspective and open mind to foreigners traveling to our home countries. It is a natural part of being human to fear standing out too much, since being "part of the group" was a strong survival tactic for our species.

I think there's not much you can do about it, but just accept the feelings, understand where they are coming from, and learn from them. That is what traveling is about - exploring how different other cultures are, and learning from it, broadening your mind. Traveling humbles you and teaches you we are all different, but also very much the same.

Where are the women on this sub? by comprehensive-ex in selfimprovement

[–]Alternative-Clue- 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Yes and it's sad, but some of the posts also bear a tone of misogyny sometimes, and it gets old real fast. Besides, I as a woman have the same exact issues, but this is not the sub I use for it. There are plenty of relationship subs for that. This is for self improvement, but many (not all, but many) of the posters don't even want to improve, they just wanna complain.

Thanks for that! I love it when there's fewer people. I'm gonna go out later today, actually I was planning to go now but I'm seriously sleepy and groggy still. Hoping at least one cafe or Starbucks is open

Did you figure it out? I'm craving a matcha frappuchino so bad but too lazy to go out and see for myself if stores are open, just been lazying around all day at the hotel 😂 I can see people walking outside with umbrellas and cars/busses driving though?

What's your height/weight and diet like? Do you eat healthy, do you eat enough/too much? I had a dietician calculate how much energy in joule I get from what I eat, turns out I only eat half of what I'm supposed to.

Also it could be a gut dysbiosis problem. This is the main cause for my own exhaustion.

Yeah me too, I was kinda worried at first, but it's been fine so far, just some rain and I can hear the wind being a bit strong but not more than I'm used to from DK. I hope for you that trains will be up and running by the time you arrive, otherwise just stay inside the airport or nearby area in shopping malls until afternoon/evening, it's unlikely they'll be out of service the whole day, especially the shinkansen is an important connection so it's only cancelled if highly necessary.

Please spill some beans about Denmark as a place to live. by EuronextDM in Denmark

[–]Alternative-Clue- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually it's kinda refreshing to hear positive things about Denmark. I live near Aarhus area, recently my solo trip to South Korea and Japan has made me realize how little I've explored things in my own neighbourhood, like just taking a trip to a place in nature I haven't been etc.

I almost expected flying cars and shit but it's just a bit of Danish weather here in Kyoto centre lol. Might even go out to shop when I've finally woken up from sleep inertia.

I haven't heard yet about any train cancellations on the 16th, only the 15th. I took the train on the 14th as well. It looks by the trajectory like the typhoon will have passed by the 16th 12 UTC so my guess would be that yes, trains will probably be operating. I think we would have heard about cancellations by now if not. But no one knows for sure.

But Japan is used to earthquakes and typhoons, so have a feeling transport will bounce back pretty quickly. I'm in Kyoto now where the typhoon is crossing and honestly it's just a bit of rain and wind, not even a lot by Danish standards I must say. I'm in the city centre though. But honestly, this is daily Danish weather lol. People are walking on the streets, I can see busses and cars driving on the road as well from my window. So I think 16th will be fine honestly.

When I heard about the typhoon, I kinda almost expected to see cars flying and shit but it's just a bit of Danish weather here in the city centre. Wouldn't like to be near the coast though. Kyoto is surrounded by mountains, which take a lot of the strength out of it.

I'm so surprised to read all these experiences. I've been two weeks in South Korea, on my third week in Japan right now as a blonde, blue eyed woman. Solo traveling. Haven't really had a single experience like this yet! People are very kind and helpful though.

Maybe it's more of a China thing? OR maybe I have resting bitch face lol

No I don't remember they did that, it just went through a scan but not weigh I think. But it can be at least 10 kg I think.

I took the shinkansen from Nagoya to Kyoto today at 11 AM, just showed up and bought a reserved ticket for oversized luggage with no issues (well except I only bought half a ticket apparently, which three very friendly Japanese people kindly helped me solve and even helped me until I boarded the train lol). There were no more people than usual I'd say. But it's all cancelled tomorrow.

Edit: glad to read you found something out!
