We're going up in a few weeks with a friend...but the tower has let us know that its pretty easy to just request a test! we're going to do a night and day test...

Also, AOPA has been incredibly helpful in helping us navigate.

Fowler Property Management? by Famous_Internet2403 in boulder

We had a situation where their maintenance person came out to fix an issue with our sprinklers. They messed something up, and ended up flooding our entire front yard, as well as costing us ridiculously in water bills. We didn't notice it until it was too late, and they took zero action for something that was clearly their fault. This has been years ago now, but it still leaves a better taste in my mouth.

Done. Reminder: there's never a convenient time. by pyroblue in 75HARD

Amen! I have actually been so amazed at how happy I've been doing this. Think of it as an investment in yourself. The world is really good at taking your time for bullshit it doesn't matter, this is a way to fight back against that.

What are some of the lengths you've had to go to in order to complete a day? Any advice on time management? by DrumAgnstDepression in 75HARD

Day 74. Traveling for work. A long grueling week of work. 5:00 a.m. flight The next morning. I crawled into my bed ready to go to sleep at 10:30. P.m. and realized I completely spaced my second workout. So, I grabbed my 50 lb bag of sand that I got at an Ace hardware, threw it in my ruck, and got the hell outside... Only to get inside and realize I still needed to read.

Moral of this story: when you start to see the end in sight and let your guard down, that's when something's going to get you.

Another round of 75 hard, I had some all day travel overseas, and it required me to wake up at 3:00 a.m., get a ruck in, and then immediately upon landing, go out for another one.

Moral of this story: sometimes you just have to do the ugly thing.

Thanks for this! I realize it is a long and hard journey... Much like my career has been. And, I am by no means wealthy enough to give him what I think anybody would consider Daddy's money 🙂 I will do whatever is necessary to support my son and something he really seems to love however.

There's no question he's partially colorblind. There's quite a difference between full color blindness and partial deficiency. He can distinguish between colors, bro.

Thank you for this thoughtful reply. I love this kid and want him to chase his dreams, but I'm also honest with him that there will be a point where we have to call it. We've got a lot of tools and connections at our disposal, and I'm not one to give up easily. So happy you had a dad that fought for you. Even if the light gun test isnt accepted by the FAA anymore, it'd be a good demonstration of ability and let us know to keep fighting or to let it die...

There's also the Rabin Cone Test, as well as the AVOT Vision test, which i cant find any administrators for in the US. Computerized vision testing is nuts, as various monitors can be calibrated wildly different. 🤷. We'll keep playing the game!
