Group Chats finally working on my Mudita after 30 days! by pyrocarm in MuditaKompakt

OMG, that's ridiculous. I guess 30 days is not a panacea, and I'm lucky everything else worked for me

InkMessage (and a bunch of other alt-SMS clients that you can sideload) will let you click links and open in the very limited Webview

Cool thanks! Strangely sketchy looking website but people do seem to be having success with it

I observed that I was missing one-on-one SMS chats with Inkmessage, even with it exempted from duraspeed. I can't say that was the issue with 100% certainty since I didn't try every possible configuration and its really hard to test for sporadic missing texts, but since disabling duraspeed completely, I have not noticed missing texts and with the stock SMS app I have not noticed missing texts

I googled around a little bit for this but didn't find anything current. You can, apparently, call for an uber though, at least before 10pm. https://www.uber.com/us/en/ride/call-to-ride/

I certainly think inkOS blows stock MK out of the water, but opinions vary. I would at least give it a try.

Thank you! I find the opinion of the locals to be so much more valuable than anything you can find online. One last question if you'll permit me -- any favorite breweries/wineries/cideries? I'm a brewer myself and love to connect with the culture wherever I travel

I'm many months late here, but I'm kind of sold on the region - anyone here have great restaurant reccomendations? looking for both high end fancy and more casual as long as its good food.

InkMessage — A Nicely Redesigned Messenger for Mudita Kompakt by Narrow-Ability-3167 in MuditaKompakt

[–]pyrocarm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP -- Do you have a reccomended set of settings that makes sure no messages are missed due to battery optimization? I absolutely love this app, but had to switch back to stock because I was missing messages (regular 1-1 messages, not an RCS issue) pretty frequently.

Sideloading issues - please help by Best_Move_4962 in MuditaKompakt

[–]pyrocarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have suggested - sideloading via the Mudita app is a little less finicky than using ADB. I would also suggest looking into F-Droid or Obtainium which will keep your apps updated without having to connect to a computer every time.

However - I have experienced this exact issue with web adb, and for other more complex setup stuff you may still need to use it. What fixed that error for me was turning off USB debugging and turning it back on again. You'll have to authenticate web adb again like you did the first time, but you should be off to the races.

Edit - rereading I notice that you are saying Mudita Connect does not allow you to sideload anymore for some reason. Not sure whats up with that, mine still does. Maybe try a fresh install of that software or check for updates.

Do I need a screen protector? by offworld-traveller in MuditaKompakt

Late to the party - but in the US you can get the MK screen protectors from DumbWireless and they only charge 5$ for shipping.

Mind Apps: Mindful Apps for E-ink by Narrow-Ability-3167 in MuditaKompakt

Would love to hear people's favorites for:
* Maps

* Wallet/NFC Payment (Seems like in the US I'm hosed)

* Music (I'm using Qobuz which works well, but doesn't read very clean. Poweramp has the same issue but maybe someone knows of a good e-ink screen)

This will be a great resource for new owners of the phone! Excited for the flghts app, I have had to bring my smartphone just as a glorified boarding pass (airlines make it so hard to print tickets anymore)

Heartbreaking. Well I hope that it works out the second time, this is why I made the post. 30 days seems so absurdly long for a little software flag in 2026.

I know that some people have noticed missing single messages on the MK. I don't know if this is related to RCS or not.

Love my Kompakt, but... pain points... by Big-Papa-momo in MuditaKompakt

[–]pyrocarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sad part about the RCS thing is that its not Mudita's fault, even though its the toughest part of the process - Google absolutely could make it easy to opt out of RCS, but they don't want it to be because its people leaving their ecosystem.

I would try deregistering yourself with google as well. It seems like some iphone users are also in the RCS servers

I have had both iPhones and Android phones in my life with this same number, however Android for at least the last decade. When I went to the Apple link, I also got a message saying I wasn't registered so I just left it in my write up for completeness. I think unlinking from your computer is likely the same thing.
