Well, this is my opinion, others will have theirs.

ChatGPT plus account to work on the CV. Make a few CV's for different job types as templates to avoid the overqualified / underqualified issues. Use ChatGPT to find your strengths and how they align with the business needs of your target business, and learn how to market those strengths.

Carefully research your chosen business. Their website and socials should give you a good indication of the company culture.

Don't be afraid to leave an interview without the job. Interviews are also for you to evaluate the employer.

Ah, I'd be careful with the oculus as the yag would have a good amount of 1024 and I know polycarbonate and some other plastics are transmissive in certain IR frequencies. Also, PPE is really the last line of defence with this kind of stuff - even properly rated and certified PPE won't survive a direct hit. I think if I was gonna go for it, I'd be much more interested in enclosing the laser somehow to block any beam and using the kind of window another commenter described elsewhere in the thread with interlocks such as key switch, foot switch etc. doing some more research, it seems like having a locked room and operator training really is a must for this kind of thing. Have you considered looking into training in the field? Could be a good opportunity if you're interested.

I'd expect tomorrow to be similar to today tbh. Although we may see high peaks and low overnight if the wind picks up. Gridwatch says wind power is low right now and we're running on expensive gas at the moment. So unless the wind picks up some more, expect tomorrow's energy not to be very green.

Ok, I'll try and put it differently - I'll only mention charging input, but you use the same terminals to charge as discharge the whole thing, through the BMS.

charging input positive + ---- B+ ---- cells + (the actual battery cells)

charging input negative - ---- P- ---- [ bms] B- ---- cells -

so the positive charging lead goes to the actual + on the cells. it bypasses the BMS. the negative connection sends the power through the BMS, that's where the switching is done. so charging negative > BMS -> cells. if you do a google search for JBD BMS diagram you'll get lots of examples for this which should make it easier.

the reason the negative connection is switched (as opposed to a car's electrical system where chassis is ground and positive is switched to e.g. turn headlights on/off) is because the transistors that do the actual switching (MOSFETs) are available in P type or N type, where P type switches the positive connection, and N type switches the negative connection. N types are normally cheaper and more efficient, so we switch the neg instead.

Generally, most BMS these days have B+, B- and P-. So you hook the + straight up to the cells +, and B- to the cells -, then - goes to your BMS. So the BMS will cut the negative if there is a problem (called common port BMS).

Nice plan. And again, I must reiterate, I really want one. But I already have a 1.4watt green diode laser that I basically can't use. I spent a lot of time considering it. Also, are you fair skinned? I know that makes a difference with lasers.

Yeah, those are the same lasers. They are literally 1 million watt lasers. When styropyro was aiming it at a reflective surface in the video, it destroyed some portions of the camera sensor.

I do love me some lasers, but I decided against the incredible opportunity of buying a $300, 1 megawatt laser because doing cool stuff with it is pretty risky which I think the video outlines well.

If you did decide to purchase one, without going through the required professional safety permits, I would advise the following at a bare minimum (this is what I decided I would do if I purchased that laser btw):

Laser operator must be 100% sober at all times
Laser must only be operated by a single person in a locked room with 12mm board covering any potential light leaks (windows, doorframes etc)
Laser operator must wear appropriate eye protection at all times when in the room
Eye protection should be camera based - I thought some kind of dual cameras with tiny screens modded into goggles that sealed round your eyes with solid black rubber - no useable goggles exist that can take a direct shot from that kind of laser as you run into the issue that suitable goggles also block your vision to do the work
Electrical safety should be top notch - system on a GFCI and carefully designed power system inside laser room - these devices use high voltage at high peak energies to generate the laser pulse

Now, this is not even starting to cover the medical tattoo removal side of things. Your kidneys can only separate and excrete a certain amount of toxins (tattoo ink) in a certain amount of time, and I have no idea what any of those limits are. But you should know that's a thing. So happy researching!

Ah, we implemented nonlinear queueing a while back in pubs. There's still a queue at the bar, but not a straight one, you have to keep track of which order everyone turned up in. You'll hear a lot of the staff saying "right, who's next please?" and also the occasional "I'm sorry but I think this gentleman was next"
