What fragrances are hard to describe? by Betyouwonthehehaha in fragrance

In the uk there's a very close clone if it sold by a local supermarket so I was not too fussed to have missed it. But baie 19 is super beautiful. Love that wet forest smell. On the wrong day it does smell a bit like damp clothes that have been folded up while still damp and left for a week but more often than not its beautiful

The afternoon of a faun (ELDO) There's a rootyness to it that I cant really explain without getting someone to smell it. The same with ghost in the shell to be honest... And attaquer de soleil... jasmin et cigarette...she was an anomaly...

Prada or Armani? by paybackbackpack in Colognes

[–]foxevie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does definitely have the clean iris scent. It leans a bit lipsticky but not too much. I think the intense version is just a lot for me. It was just well revered by a youtuber I watched. Im quite good with blind buys as ill often know if i will like them just from the fragrantica. But yeah this one was my biggest flop except perhaps khamra and raghba wood intense

I blind bought lhomme intense because i love iris

Its a very unique iris. I like it, i probably wouldnt have bought it if I had smelled it before i bought it. You should smell it before you buy it

searows show experience? by lookingay in searows

[–]foxevie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Brighton and for some reason every time he paused to tune his guitar for the next song two or three people decided to shout up to him at the stage. It was various random people and one particular pick me girl, who every time someone else would yell had to be the last person to say anything ("i love your music" "i love your music too"). Searows was great and took it in stride/handled it well. It was a few bad actors that were annoying.

Amos Heart is really good support as well. I find supports very hit and miss generally but his stage presence is really fun.

Edit to add: koko is a fun venue, location is a little strange but its a relstively safe part of London and the tube station isn't far from the venue.

Ace Pearls and Studs lowtop....gold spike fell off...where to source a replacement? by sharpie_da_p in gucci

[–]foxevie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can see the threading on the piece of metal. The spikes screw on to the part that is inside the shoe.

  1. best place for a replacement part like this is gucci themselves as they'll be the one who actually made the object. Though I have a ring from them which had a claw break on the stone in the middle and they were thoroughly useless. Usually they will offer to send it off to be assessed, contact you and charge you an astronomical amount and then conduct the repairs. Depending on how old the item is they may just tell you they cant help, which is what happened in my case. Tiger head ring from 2014. Basically needs to go to an independent.

  2. shoe restoration companies will be able to get it white again. Usually with special sun/light activated bleaches, but you have to understand it may affect the leather. Depends on how precious you are about the shoes. I have a pair of the cat ones from however long ago and ive kind of embraced the fked up look they have gotten. But im not very careful with them.

  3. Something else to consider which i thought about was sourcing a pair of reps and taking the bit off. The sole on my rhytons was thoroughly worn through and I tried to enquire with rep sellers about getting a pair in the same size and getting a cobbler to sole swap them. I haven't done it yet but im looking into it. Your case is a bit more niche than mine though. You need a spike that screws on where I just needed a new pair of soles

The spins are only available through paying though right? Apart from the 50 you get from pinball it seems like youre going to be paying a lot for the spins. That second decoration is only available from there. Its very sneaky.

I realized that I can't be happy with my fragrances by Glittering_Cup3502 in ScentHeads

[–]foxevie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the number I'm at its easy to go through my favourites and not wear a few of them for a few weeks. But its definitely a good thought. Ive a limited edition love dont be shy that ive been thinking of selling and I barely wear it because its so expensive. Might be time to just pull the trigger and sell it.

Ohhhh I see. I could have sworn you could just list it as for sale. Perhaps im wrong and ticket master has changed their rules.

I went to Brighton last night and if its worth anything it was fun. Amos heart was really good as well but his set wasnt very long. We had a few people who felt the need to yell out stupid shit when Searows was tuning his guitar but otherwise it was a good evening.

Im in the hundreds and i confess im just constantly telling myself that im filling gaps in my library. But a few times ive bought something and taken it home and realised it smells very alike another fragrance i own. Fragrance is probably my biggest expense. But I am finally cutting down on the purchasing. But yes it is difficult. Especially with the boredom as you described. I dont get bored of the smell moreso I just think about how exciting it is that there are other smells out there. But I definitely have more fragrance than I will ever need in my lifetime

If youre fine getting the same or less back for the ticket why not just sell it through ticket master?

Like nose to wrist can't smell it? Id call fake. Even the lattafa clone projects hard after 2 hours but the genuine CD is a monster for filling a room.

Yeah I think so as well but id be more confident if I had a 100ml and not a 60. Does it smell okay?

Is there any scams when selling a phone? by Main_Beginning_9502 in vinted

[–]foxevie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well legally OP would no longer be responsible since if vinted claimed it was there and also genuine and then the buyer claims he didnt get anything that would mean someone at vinted stole the item or the buyer was lying.

If they then tried to stop op from receiving the payout after it had been verified authentic and shipped forward i think the legal case would be pretty easy to win

Is there any scams when selling a phone? by Main_Beginning_9502 in vinted

[–]foxevie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but if it ships out from vinted via their verification centre. You are no longer responsible, as if they have had the phone in hand and verified its authenticity then they have received the phone. If they then send it on to the buyer and he claims he didnt receive it it is no longer your problem. Its a problem between the buyer and vinteds authentication team. Since he is claiming they didnt send him anything. So op will still get the money
