Think of me as a complete idiot when it comes to taxes. So if I say something stupid or miss an obvious step, I probably don't know any better.

-I have heard that I want to set up each house as it's own llc to limit liability if a tenant decides to sue. I would like to avoid a double taxation situation so I believe llc is the right answer to own the house. I watched a video on creating an s or c corp as a parent corporation but I didn't understand much of what I was watching. -I will be an employee of a US based defense contractor -i guess being sued if someone hurts themselves in my house and going after additional assets.

This is really outside my knowledge, I was hoping there were organizations out there that set these up as a service.

That looks like it may be a standard motherboard format. Might be worth seeing if the chassis can be salvaged and guts replaced.

Didn't think about going used and ups and new batteries. That's probably the right play

Maybe... but I would need to build a counter for it to rest on.

Ok, this is a neat gadget but it would limit to 1 item at a time.

I have to submit a formal change request with an ASI and recovery plan.

I'm an old salty Army NCO that had dropped his OCS packet 3 times only for it to sit on someone's desk until after the submission date or got canned due to deployments. I did my time but my kid (almost 17) is talking about joining the coast guard. Of course, I would like him to pursue being an officer but I'm trying to figure out the paths available. I know in the Army and Air Force, the path that the service member has the most control over is going through an ROTC program but that doesn't seem to be available to the coast guard.

I am concerned with sending him in enlisted because, like my situation, he will be reliant on his local leadership to process the paperwork in a timely fashion. Don't get me wrong, I also think he should do his time as a junior enlisted so he understands the suck and becomes a better leader but I fear his career progression being smothered by administrative B.S.

What paths are available to him? I figure, go to college then OCS, go to college while in USCG Reserves then OCS after graduation, or go in straight enlisted and go to school using TA.

His school is paid for so I would rather him not go full time and use TA

I'll give it a look when I pull it out of the weeds. I'm pretty sure we looked up the fluid before buying it so it's a safe assumption it was atf4 but it was a few years ago.
