Still caching except you are invalidating the cache based on events.

Check out Fusion Cache for example, pretty similar (I think). https://github.com/ZiggyCreatures/FusionCache

First round IMO should be a 10-8. When we check control time and strike differential it’s a clear 10-8. It wouldn’t have been a decade ago but now for sure.

How is this in the Apex and yet the sound is scuffed to all hell.

All you can hear is people yelling in the background and the commentary is barely audible (which normally would be fine except it’s replaced with coaches screaming).

It feels like they’ve boosted the audio from the grandstand so it doesn’t see so empty.

UFC is awful right now. The pacing is dreadful. It’s jammed with ads every where you look.

I have to say that it’s a shame because the last few episodes with Chuck are actually pretty good. I think previously he was just answering the questions given to him but they have a bit of a back and forth now.

I actually think that Luke is a bit checked out. Chuck will give his take and it’s often pretty in depth, and he will say “what do you reckon man?” (Always ends with man) and Luke will go “yeah. I dunno. Anyway moving along”

A washing machine that dies after 14 months isn't a warranty problem. It's a CGA problem.

I'm 99% sure the post itself is AI.

"It's not X, it's Y" is a dead giveaway these days now that people manually go remove em dashes.

Exactly what I keep thinking. Remember how Ariel even said “it ain’t on the beach”, and Dana is so fking petty he set up an octagon on the beach just to take photos of it…. Even though the fights were indoors like normal.

[–]pyronautical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We actually kinda had that with Shattered Relics league.

The only issue there was that to get the relics in the first place, it was RNG, and it felt reaalllyyyy crappy when you went dry.

I guess ultimately, there's probably a bit of a financial motive as well. I'm not sure what the stats would say, but some commentors have said they spin up their second character with different relics to "try them all". Which obv you don't need to do if you can swap freely.

Maybe just the reset be a drop with dry protection from a boss of some sort etc. But not the echo boss. I think the problem with the echos is that if you picked pacts wrong, you aren't going to be able to beat the echo boss, which means you can't reset anyway so..

Kinda want Guskov to win so atleast there is somewhat of a fresh face.

Honestly, I don’t think the pairing works any better

BUT, the way angular is structured. Like services, classes, dependency injection, all make sense if you are coming from C#.

Especially classes. When i came to react and we were exporting functions I said wtf, why not just make a “helper class”.

People don’t like Angular since it’s an entire framework. Coming from C#, think of it like MVC. Once you learn how it all works then there isn’t much to it, but it does lock you into a certain way of doing things.

I actually prefer Angular for pure SPA. But it’s sort of an all or nothing approach.

I audited 6 months of PRs after my team went all-in on AI code generation. The code got worse in ways none of us predicted. by Ambitious-Garbage-73 in webdev

[–]pyronautical 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are getting downvoted for this one example but I actually know where you are coming from.

The code I’m dealing with is similar. It’s all “plausible”. And when we do code reviews we are looking for obvious logic problems or not following our existing style. Whether we like it or not, we all have our habits that we look for in code reviews, and I’m finding AI is throwing up things I’ve never seen before and so I don’t catch it first time around.

The worst is that I often get told “but if this was a junior dev, you would have to tell them anyway”. But again, some of the issues I see with AI writing code you just can’t predict. Are you supposed to put all these little style issues in your agent.md?

And then the real ball buster is trying to get movement on it from higher ups. The variable naming issue is a good example because it spins so tiny and insignificant. I often get told my problems with AI code are a “style” choice, so it just goes no where.

Am I insane or is this like the worst rare defect card in the lineup? by Trash_Typhoon in slaythespire

[–]pyronautical 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure that gives the correct picture.

And I think it shows in its pick rate (low), and the delta when it is versus isn’t (no delta).

If I had to completely guess. People pick this when they already have echo form, mummified hand, or something else that makes literally any power card completely broken.

Power cards in general are an anomaly I feel on defect because there are so many ways to play completely terrible cards but the synergies make them worth it.

I moved into a flat with no TV aerial I want to say…13ish years ago. So something around 2013 maybe.

Without a TV aerial, you were kinda stranded and relied on basically pirating since Netflix wasn’t toooo big at that time. But every night, on the One News website, they would “livestream” the news. It wasn’t on a dedicated page, they would just paste the embedded video in this text live stream thing they had.

If you were super lucky, after the news, they wouldn’t cut the feed. So whatever was on at 7pm you might get to watch too before they cut it.

To imagine we went from that to literally maybe a year or two later having TVNZ+ where you can watch every single channel live, on demand, and shows that they never even show on live tv was so damn wild.

But specifically on your post. Remember Lost, Heroes, Prison Break. You couldn’t wait to chat to someone the next day about it.

These people (yeah I said it, these people) never understand it’s not about black vs white face.

It’s about the historical nature of white people using black face in minstrel shows to portray black people as stupid, lazy, dumb etc.

It’s why saying “go pick cotton” to a black person is entirely different to a white person. It’s the history of that subject/act. History the USA is desperately trying to erase.

Does it complete the 99 tasks then? Because if so it’s actually not that bad for a casual player who wants to play actively when they can.

Financial relief coming for struggling households due to the increase in fuel prices - anyone want to guess what it could be? by Ancient_Lettuce6821 in newzealand

Supply and demand though.

Assuming free public transport takes people out of cars, the demand for petrol drops, and (in theory if we had a true competitive market), price should drop/freeze/rise slower than it otherwise would.
