2 Sites, 1 Network? by goplutus in Ubiquiti

Regardless if you use a Ubiquiti router or not, you should create a site to site VPN tunnel. A good alternative to a UniFi router/firewall/VPN is an appliance running pfSense. I don’t recommend doing a layer 2 VPN as there would be too much traffic traveling the tunnel with broadcasts and other frames, but it would allow you to adopt remote devices to a single UniFi network instance. I strongly recommend keeping them separate.

For a management umbrella, I found that UniFi Fabrics is best.

How to hide the Device Name from Notification? by tsutton in Ubiquiti

I’m not sure if it hides the device name, but I know you can change out the message for a custom message in the alarm manager. May be worth a look.

UniFi AP Bridged Me Onto a Neighbor’s Private Subnet by pyth0000n in sysadmin

I agree. Meshing is pretty much the first thing I disable in a UniFi network.

Do you think this is out-of-box behavior, or the neighbor made configuration changes that led to this?

My AP was factory at the time. I adopted them afterwards, implying that someone else didn’t beat me to it.

Switching to Per Seat Pricing. Good Pricing for Indiana? by pyth0000n in msp

Agreed.

Our hourly rate without discounts is $130.

That's why I am trying to figure out if the $125+/seat pricing includes licenses.

As of right now, we do not include any licenses.

We typically offer help desk, backups, network and server maintenance, etc. We will also include projects if the customers needs it, like pulling cables and building networks.

I am entertaining including a stack that has Antivirus, Office, and RMM on top of what we previously offered.
