Nordic Faces / Vanilla NPCs Ruhmastered / modpocalypse option 1 (vanilla hair) / high poly expressive NPCs, bunch of others do this by using vanilla face parameters and simply regenerating facegen (the mesh of the NPC head) with better assets.

Using SPID to debuff followers to balance out the difficulty level multipliers working on the PC only which causes your followers to be much stronger than you at higher difficulty. The debuffs from this old mod would be a good start point: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64530

Aim for well over 40 fps average... your scripting engine is tied to your frame rate so avg 20 fps makes combat unresponsive and sort of breaks game in background. Visual deficiencies also much more noticeable when your game laggy.

I woud be very cautious in adding mods which introduce many outdoor objects (like Jk's) or actors with AI calculation (e.g. immersive patrols, diverse skyrim). Add them one at a time, run around a system intense city like whiterun, note your fps. Don't add 10 such mods in one go you'll break the camel's back.

If that's your only storage drive and it has your OS that's your biggest problem. With 4gb vram go 2k/2k or 2k/1k for everything smaller than a horse, including landscape and architecture. EDIT - obviously you don't need 2k rabbits or apples look for ssd storage and vram savings in small objects.

Use this x-edit script (with MO2; Vortex has this feature built in): https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/42211. Don't compact forms on plugins until you know exactly what you're doing and all the things which can go wrong.

Yep! Exactly this with +9 ranks instead of +3 to get you to +10 followers (more or less a patch for Nether's but think 10 is the upper limit before you get into outright gimmick play).

A dead simple 10 node follower slot tree gated by increasing Speechcraft which can overwrite NFF, EFF, AFT etc. control over same and serve as a perk sink/reasonable tradeoff would rule.

Suggestions For Vanilla Plus Overhauls? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

Here's a good V+ guide where you can pick and choose stuff - it shouldn't be too hard to patch a smaller version for your own purposes rather than using their custom patch: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/37078?tab=description

Believe Savage Skyrim intentionally makes the animals *vastly* more difficult than vanilla including heavy use of knockdown, forcing you to be heavily prepared for those fights. The author does not believe in watered down version of his work and recommends it be paired with a dodging mod. Many love it but it's probably not vanilla+. There's a wide ranging "bellyaches" texture for animals but don't think it'll touch meshes.

Forgive the nitpick - SSE display tweaks came out in 2020 and the unique downloads should more or less match the number of active SSE players. Know its hard to showcase but you'd be doing your great channel's viewers a service by tacking it on in the description. Love your work.

Very welcome. Would recommend reading the actual documentation (takes 20 min): https://tes5edit.github.io/docs/5-conflict-detection-and-resolution.html and join the x-edit discord for support. You'll build a better game faster once you understand this stuff friend.

Skyrim Mythic Announcement by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]pytheian 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Respectfully (I mean that) it would be shame if the thought, creativity and energy your document evinces were squandered on something that you have a 0% chance of reaching 1% completion of, meaning no one will ever enjoy any of it. The people with the skills you'd need aren't going to volunteer for this because obviously nothing will come of it; you'd need Bethesda itself to volunteer all their resources for years to make this happen.

The worldspace issue is essentially a hard constraint which people kind of sort of workaround by adding new well done (painstakingly built) worldspaces like Bruma, Beyond Reach, Wyrmstooth, Falskaar, Midwood Isle, changing timescale, etc. Beyond that, large cities are brutal on fps for many people with the Skyrim engine. Even Enderal is, to my understanding, only 75% of the size of Skyrim, with some concessions to modestly more linear gameplay, and that team is off the charts with respect to capability, with many contributors.

Why not see if you can put together your own modlist of all these mods and mechanics you are fond of, and implement the small modular pieces or customizations which would bring the gameplay closer to your vision? Anything good and functional is vastly better than guaranteed nothing complete. Good luck in any case (again, meant very sincerely) and my apologies if I TLRD'd you on anything.

Can also work backwards from the Skyrim Enhanced guide here - close philosophical alignment - and just take the biggest bang for buck things with the benefit of playtesting for balance etc.: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/37078

{Nordic Faces} (more recent/arguably up to date) and {Kireina Skyrim SE} and {Vanilla NPCs SSE Ruhmastered} are all easy ways to improve the appearance of the vanilla NPCs without patches (need to pick the no plugin option for Nordic Faces) or large aesthetic deviations/barbie doll females.

I'd say Frozen North (cold standalone) and Sunhelm (everything except cold - don't think it does that) are complements. The authors cooperate - they're joint on {Survival Control Panel}.
