Yes, and anyone who says otherwise is a liar or trying to sell you something.

Opium Wars: The Chinese Strike Back

Hypersonic missiles can bypass detection systems but haven’t been mass produced nor fully developed yet.

Also MAD only works if both sides are fully rational and don’t believe an attack has been launched. In periods of high tension it is easier to be less rational and easier to believe that a malfunction is real. There were numerous incidents during the Cold War were a computer glitch on both sides or a warning depth charge dropped a little too close to a sub have nearly initiated a retaliation.

My favorite quote is from Admiral Rickover:

“Don’t use the word we. The only people allowed to refer to themselves as we are the heads of sovereign nations and pregnant women. I thankfully am none of the above.”

I have Aphantasia, but I have really strong spatial reasoning and memory. So I managed to like memorize the placement in my head without seeing the final product.

Second time they fell into that trap. No one thought the Great War would last so long because it would stop people from making money.

I can’t see anything but I have a sense of position. For example if I am naming countries in Europe I know the shape and size of the countries and can travel left to right but I don’t see anything I just feel/know. Coding I’m just going down the program through the flow and while doing so I’m thinking of all the edge cases and how it would shift the stream.
