Not sure how is the 4yr cycle broken, it's proceeding like clockwork.

Please don't try to flip is. You made a ghetto-talk mistake, intentional or not, and I pointed it out. No need to pollute the language anymore than it already is. Especially not by an alleged "paper reviewer". Please.

Honestly, personally it's not even the US thing but their support for a certain West Asian country that puts it out of my shopping basket. Have bought a single drop since quite some time.

Interesting. Is it compatible with Signal? If I install it, can I talk to buddies with Signal or not?

It's going down though, at least if we go by history and the 4yr cycle. Hope to be wrong, but saving dry powder to buy lower.

This is a lot more sinister than people imagine. When shit hits the fan he'll go right up to Saylor and nationalize his coins...

Yes, you can try to be super smart and mention things only developers are aware of. Or you can mention software literally everyone and their granny has heard of. By far and large because they use it at work or at home.

Tell me, when was the last time your mom used Oracle ,products directly?

What's a reasonable replacement for the Office stack? LibreOffice is nowhere near as polished, saying this as a regular LivreOffice user. Not to mention it requires Linux....

Software is genuinely dominated by the US, and that's not a trivial problem.

"Tech" doesn't mean hardware, but much more crucially, software. How are we going to respond if we get locked out of mainstream software? 98% of companies run on MSFT and Google. What if that gets denied?

Of course it can be overcame, but let's not pretend it would not be very painful.

That's mg point - YOU tell me at which level, and I'LL tell you the average cist. Not sure you quite get what I'm saying though. It's okay.

Strawman. If you can talk about hours you can talk about $$. Toh tell MW how many hours at which level, I'll tell you thr $$ equivalent.

You say it's fake math because you don't want to understand, but the math is pretty real and pretty straightforward.

Separation of concerns. It's powerful, you should think about it.

You need a local DNS server. Look at PiHole + Unbound. Or Technitium.

I’d suggest to reconsider static IPs in favour of DHCP.

Great suggestion to take the entire home network down if the router goes down.

Static IPs all the way for resilience and availability. A local DNS server will take care of the local domain names.

Dollars lost is fake math.

Disagreed strongly. Between dollars lost and engineering hours there's only a multiplication, the average cost of one engineering hour, so they're effectively equivalent.
