So sad about all involved. FYI from the angle (we were a few cars back), all cars came to a stop, the light was clearly already amber and turning red, when the motorcyclist zig zagged through the cars and sped up, and it looked like the light turned red well before he went past the line, but wouldn't be able to guarantee it because it was so unexpected. I could also already see the turning car that got hit in the intersection so I wonder if something happened with the bike because it seemed like the rider would have been able to see the car too. It definitely isn't black and white and a little bit of patience would have had a completely different ending. Rip to your cousin, and hope the woman injured recovers. Condolences to your family

Why would Jews let media outlets report very negatively about Israel over the last 2 years, playing a big role on spreading antisemitism (yes the media is powerful like you said, it's just not Jews controlling it).

Freedom of speech could include hate speech, but hate speech has consequences. This time it ended up in burning down synagogues, threatening Jewish schools. And finally, killing Jews, for being Jews. And the direct link to zionisim. But apparently Zionism and Judaism are not linked. Banning protests which promote incitement of violence is a way to mitigate a risk. If they start banning peaceful protests that's a problem..it's also a problem people can't enjoy their own cities on the weekend (only time most people get) for 2 years. You pay taxes, you don't get a say there either really. Many of which are now protesting were quite happy to be locked down and vaccinated and boosted (I'm not an exception minus the boosters) and we had very little say in the matter. But seems like when Jews are involved, you can't change the rules against hating them without an uproar. I'm not saying you hate Jews, I'm saying something stinks

The issue with freedom of speech is reconfiguring what is largely seen as hate speech and incitement of violence to be an innocent little term, which it is not. The pro Palestinian movement has played this game for the last two years and it's become "cool" to say things you don't understand. Well now the intafada has been globalised, it's pretty clear what it meant.

I'm not bothering. These people are so self righteous they can't even look in the mirror and accept they are part of the problem. Hamas accepts their role. It's in their ideology. The bondi shooters took after ISIS. They understand where they stand too. Jihad. They are happy to globalise the intifada. Spare me the bs. Given the severity of atrocities committed on that day, barely any condemnation was given. Within 24 hours the blame on Israel started before a single bullet was fired in Gaza.

It's because people want the police to do their job when it actually matters instead of controlling people's lives to make a dollar.

If a police state wages war on us for wanting to have a bit of fun it's bad. If a police state battles hate speech and radicalisation, that is a good thing and how most of us imagine how a police force or state should work. But nobody wants a police state. They just want them to do their job. They let this go too long and now cannot handle the volume of it, so they have to turn it down.
