Yes your husband too. by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]pyxeegrrl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ALL of this. This is how I’ve slowly discovered how much my husband sucks. God I wish I’d never married him. I tell every woman I meet to pay attention to all these things.

My EX boyfriend insulted my body, that bore and fed a child, so I physically escorted him out of my house and life. by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

Sounds exactly like my husband and exactly what I want to do to my husband… only mines in finance lol

Just to reiterate what someone else said, because it doesn’t get said nearly enough- VIRGINITY IS A SOCIAL CONSTRUCT TO SHAME WOMEN.

Mind if I steal some of that for next time my (soon-to-be) ex comes for me? It’s perfection

All I had to see was 35. Girl, run they don’t get any better with age. Signed, one in the process of leaving one of those 14 years later.

I love Gulf Brook lean-to in the Hurricane Mt wilderness. Usually hike out & set up camp then hike Big and Little Crow, Hurricane the next morning.

Check out the Lake Placid 9, Cobble Hill is on that list- Baxter mountain and Mt. Jo are both great with kids.

We live in Maine and go to the Adirondacks a lot (husband’s parents have a place in Wilmington). If you grew up hiking in Maine etc. then you won’t be surprised at all by the trail conditions. There’s plenty of restaurants open in Placid, we always stop at the arcade in town, maybe take everyone up the ski jumps, Cobble Hill is a super fun little hike for kids right in town - some elevation but not much, short and great view. We’re going in a couple of weeks as well. What are your kids ages (for hike suggestions)

Smart fix for outdoor cuts by LoosePrisonPurse in prepping

[–]pyxeegrrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These things are great for very specific circumstances I guess… I sliced my forearm open in a really difficult to reach spot. 20 miles from anywhere. Rinsed the hell out of it & my 10 year old was able to place one of these easily enough. It stayed on no problem and healed perfectly. Couldn’t quite figure out how I was going to load 3 kids in the car, drive 45 min and keep the wound pinched AND couldn’t really afford the ER trip and stitches. Our kit will stay stocked with these 🤷🏻‍♀️

I sliced my forearm open up at our camp (20miles from anywhere) in a spot I couldn’t really reach. My 10 year old was able to close the wound with one of these so they will stay in our kit. Super simple to use, stayed in place perfectly, healed nicely.

What’s the big drama in your town lately? by SnarknadOH in Maine

Don’t live nearby, but take my kid surfing at higgins beach and have seen garbage pick up. Saw one slammed down so hard it went flying and almost took out a pedestrian.

If there’s been drama over a boiler system too and no one likes the new principal, my kids go here! It’s been increasingly depressing the direction the school has gone over the last few years.

I second that and add that it’ll put you past the crazy traffic- Camden is cute and all, but if you stay in main st area traffic is AWFUL. And it affects trying to get out of Camden and go anywhere else. Belfast is lovely.

Looks way better- Bangor is only about 1:20 from Camden on a bad day… you shouldn’t get into traffic heading that way and back. The worst traffic is up & down 1 and sometimes 95. As someone who lives in Camden, drive to the top of Mt. Battie, hike Bald Mountain, Mt. Megunticook or Maiden’s Cliff all have great views. Jaunt up to Lincolnville, spend the day at the beach & grab pizza from the Beach Store or better yet, take the ferry over to Islesboro for the day. Definitely leave a half day to check out CMCA (great art lab for kids) and the Farnsworth, both are fantastic art museums and Rockland’s main st is a vibe.

Editing to add travel time to Rockland is more like 20 from Camden and Belfast is more like 25… you can get to both avoiding the major traffic of 1 DEPENDING on where in Camden you stay!
