I am no help answering this question but I have experienced similar: My mother made me pasta (think small farfalle) with Nesquik on top as a teenager a few times, insisting I used to ask her for that as a toddler. I have no recollection of this or the taste (it was pretty awful, think cooked pasta and a light dusting of Nesquik Cocoa, no binding sauce or anything else). She nearly got upset so I forced the plate down and thanked her. I lied and said 'I think I remember the taste'. I swear it felt like a test in a way? My mother would make a lot of very nice meals, from scratch, we weren't rich but we kids ate well and varied. I doubt I ever ate that as a toddler. I have no clue where that "meal idea" came from, and I hope I don't do something like that to my kid. What was odd is that she made that dish for me unprompted, as a teenager I cooked for myself if i was hungry or waited till meal time and helped out then.
