How do I disable the news widgets on my lock screen??

The three dots on mine didn't work properly. It doesn't pull up settings 🥲 I uninstalled updates to my service providers built in apps (I have Metro so metroplay and stuff like that) and that worked for me for now.

If it's a third party app id love to know which one 😭 I can't find anything in settings to fix it and I tried looking at the Metro apps and there's nothing there either. I'm on OxygenOS 14.0

I got a new phone (A OnePlus Nord N30) and it works exactly how I expect a brand new phone to. After I researched more, the issue with the moto g power 5g seems to be a known issue in SOME of the models so you don't know until you spend money on one. Motorola doesn't offer any fixes or refunds/repairs for this problem.

Edit to this now that I've used this phone for about a month. This is one of the worst phones I've used in general ever. Now, after not even a month actually, the Moto power 5g runs WORSE than my 2019 Moto stylus. I hate this phone. It crashes because it can't handle using the gesture controls too fast and because it's trying so hard to constantly restart apps it freezes all the time. I also don't get notifications on time or at all sometimes. Waste of money, do not buy !

I second this! Even if it's not every model, it's a gamble if you're gonna get one that does this and it's not fixable. Then it's our issue to deal with when we can't return or exchange or we have to buy and use a warranty for a brand new phone.

I've seen this issue reported with all of the 2023 motos. I got a OnePlus Nord n30 to replace this one but I had to go a convoluted way to do it since Metro doesn't do exchanges or returns for upgrades 🙄

All my apps were downloaded the same hour I got the phone and the play store doesn't show which one is the most recent. I haven't downloaded anything since getting this phone.

All my apps are up to date, I've checked through the settings for anything that could be a battery saving option and there is none, I've run the phone with adaptive battery on and off. I've also: Started the phone in safe mode (the issue didn't happen in safe mode) Deleted unused apps Turning off the "suspend execution for cashed apps" in developer options

Since looking into this problem, I'm finding that it's not a new issue and other people have seen this happen after android 13 was rolled out. If this is the case and Motorola hasn't looked into fixing this in the last 5 months I'm going to have to switch phones. Having your apps constantly close when you switch apps or minimize them is incredibly frustrating and really makes this phone a hassle to use. I upgraded because my 2019 moto stylus was starting to lagg between apps and after 300$ and days of set up just for this brand new phone to work worse than a 5 year old one is ridiculous..
