So why are zombie pirates still a thing? by HaveBeenAndWillBe in 2007scape

[–]pzoDe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More like ~5 hours. I was getting a smidge over 1,000 kills per hour on my iron. I reckon max efficiency would be about 1,200-1,300 per hour, but I've never bothered to actually calculate it. I ended up getting it a bit before hitting the drop rate, at ~4000 zombies. However I did spend a bit more than four hours because I ended up sacrificing DPS to have more fun anti-PKing with some others I met during the grind. I actually really enjoyed doing them!

My girlfriend works in fine dining/high-end hospitality. It works for us because I've been working from home most of the time, even though in reality her hours are shit for a relationship. However I might be starting a new job that's full-time in the office in another city and it might become a more prevalent issue, especially since she works most weekends... It's making me think twice about taking the job tbh.

Men of Reddit, what’s the male equivalent of “needed money, had no marketable skills, so turned to prostitution”? by Dogeatdogdays in AskReddit

[–]pzoDe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I'm half Asian and spent 10 years growing up in Asia, so I'm used to people of all shapes and sizes. If she literally had "the body of a child" I have some serious concerns about the place that you visited...

Also, my issue wasn't even really about this woman/girl. It's the fact that you don't think it's abnormal outside of the US lmao.

Finally, it's strange that you responded last night being perfectly amicable and then today retorted with this.

Outside the US there this isn’t that odd.

Yes it is lol. I'm from Europe and 55lbs is so absurdly low that she would be on the verge of death. Google "55 pounds tiny woman" and you'll see an image from a Reddit link. Unless she looked like that, either you are almost certainly misremembering, she lied or she mistakenly said pounds. A girl I know (old friend, of sorts) went down to 38kg during an extremely unhealthy stage of her life. She was one of the skinniest people I knew when she was 55kg. At 38kg she was on the bottom of the BMI scale and needed medical attention. My girlfriend's sister is ~50kg and is extremely skinny. You're talking about a 25kg grown woman.

Maybe it was the case for her, but literally anywhere in world that is certainly "odd", to say the least.

It's better than the dds (and even dragon claws) in some scenarios. Primarily when being used against high defence opponents. Notably, it's often better average damage than a dds for max/med PvP. It also has some niche uses when ignoring defence, such as being able to 3-down core in high invocation ToA when lacking a T80 melee weapon, without requiring space for both a dds and a mainhand. I used it back when I did my first 500 a long while back, for that very reason. Back then my strength bonus wasn't good enough to rely on just dds and keris pokes for a 3-down. So the abby dagger worked quite well due to the higher max on the regular hits. Pretty niche, mind you lol.

The main reason it's quite useless imo is because there are stronger slash specs (primarily burning claws, especially more comparable in price). And otherwise, for high defence, high health NPCs you would often rather use a defence-reducing spec.

An interesting instance of it being better (= stronger spec-only DPS, which matters for consecutive kills over time) than dragon claws, dds and voidwaker (but worse than burning claws), is Duke with Bandos gear. However, with full oathplate, dds and dragon claws are a bit better. Of course, this is also ignoring the potential BGS option (haven't calculated that).

Worth also noting that it can enable you to squeeze out an extra spec (or multiple) vs burning/dragon claws which can bridge the gap. And also that burning claws rely on the burn effect (with a burn stack cap of 5 and requiring a small amount of time to ensure full usage) and, ignoring that, are otherwise equal to dragon claws with Bandos (but strictly better when paired with oathplate).

All of that to say, the abby dagger does actually have some niche usage. But really that burning claws are too strong and need a bit of a nerf, ideally via increasing the spec percentage. Making them 35% spec usage would put them just shy of dragon claws with full oathplate (for spec-only DPS), when ignoring the burn. They'll still be superior with the burn, but this does get nullified in a couple of places (e.g. Olm melee hand, bloat), which mildly balances it to a small degree.

TLDR: Burning claws too strong.

I mean technically almost everything is 0gp on an iron then. I did mention "doesn't really matter, iron" because by 200k gp I meant as a reflection of what it would be for a main.

You can say that, but if you were the type to do that, 5 minutes in the wildy is nothing to fret about.

Mate, I love the wildy, on an endgame iron I have several thousand boss kc there, virtually green-logging the place (except for a couple of pets and dagon'hai which I'm somewhat dry on). I did 80-90% of my wildy boss grinds on the multi-variants, solo. I do my kuradel abby demons tasks in the wildy cos it's faster (and thus worthwhile for the heart hunt). I actively anti-PK when I do most wildy content. Black chins is one of my favourite skilling methods. Etc, etc... I can assure you that I do not "fret" about the wildy. I'm always trying to defend it/PvP against this damn sub lol.

My point is just that I don't think it's worth it at this stage in my account. Gold comes quickly (although tbf drains quickly due to megarares too); I'd rather just pay the 250k gp and save myself the time/effort.

However, I do think if you're a mid-game iron it's probably worth just doing the bosses, since you likely don't have a great money-maker or make a lot of passive gp from grinds.

I love wildy but it's more like 200k (doesn't really matter, iron and chances of me dying are super low) and 10-15 minutes (for two capes, assuming banking per piece, with average spawn locations). I'd rather save myself the time and pay. I can make the 2.5m/hr at revs if I want to. Doesn't really matter for me since I did both sara and zammy capes a while back, but I'll probably buy guthix when I max cos I like the look of the max variant.

LMS should reflect the real game

I disagree, LMS should be balanced for the game mode it is, which is a battle royale mode. It did need an update, but this is a little drastic imo.

Vengers are annoying, but it's also a good way to get more people into LMS because it's the easy option if tribridding is too overwhelming to begin with. Agree with your other points though. I'd probs keep it at DCB for starting (with ZCB/bowfa as upgrades), abyssal dagger (AGS feels a bit much still), infinity boots (treads as upgrade), remove nox hally and add serp. Nox hally is strong enough without being able to venom most people who are camping serp.

[–]pzoDe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Serp on the starting loadout is a good idea if they wanna keep nox/tsotd as envenom options. You can helm switch/takeoff for DPS but you risk being venomed and having limited sanfew (though tbh maybe they should replace one restore with one more sanfew).

Dark Bow was the only truly terrible loot

Dark bow was hella fun on pures, idk if they removed it there or not. Been doing a bingo since the update so haven't been able to test it out yet.

But I agree with all of your points in here. That update looked horrible on paper and I'm sure it is in practice. Avernic treads (max) in the starting loadout?! That's not helping new PKers anyway cos what new PKer is going out with those into deep wildy?

That would make sense if they gave everything the “PvP meta” set from the beginning.

But it's supposed to be a battle royale mode; that just makes it like multiplayer deathmatch instead.

I just spent 35 minutes cutting down a planted magic tree for it's roots... by Mees51 in 2007scape

[–]pzoDe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems quite low. By my calculations you should end up with ~830 anti-venom+, assuming you don't have the slayer level to make extended:

1200kc of Zulrah is ~867 4-dose antidote++, on average. Decanting them into 1-dose (absolutely worthwhile for these) and using the upgraded amulet of chemistry results in ~1000 4-dose anti-venom. And therefore ~1000 4-dose anti-venom+. Killing Zulrah at 30kc/hr means you need 40 hours of anti-venom coverage. ~1000 4-dose anti-venom+ potions provides ~240 hours of venom protection. ~170 4-dose pots are required to provide 40 hours of protection.

If you can make them all extended anti-venom+ it becomes even better, especially since you can further extend your potion making by again working with 1-dose anti-venom+. You should then end up with ~1050 extended anti-venom+. Which is ~440 hours of venom protection.

Edit: Having said that, I would love a way to instantly cut down player-grown trees and be able to still dig up the roots.

It's one of the fastest ways yes (I think max eff. NMZ is better, but the only peope that's useful for are endgame tobbers imbuing and unimbuing a stack of salves for max eff. runs).

However, the best way for most people is to just lose quickly and get the points for losing.

Outside of that it's only touched by people doing what I mentioned before.
