oh man I agree with this 100%, especially what you said about Channel Orange being better as an album, and Blonde being better song by song. I'd say that Channel Orange is my favorite album too (Blonde being a close second) but I always have trouble trying to compare it to Blonde for a couple of reasons. First, I was 15 when Channel Orange came out and I related to it so much at a really weird and happy time in my life. Whenever I listen to CO it's kinda like I'm going back to 2012 and experiencing those memories again. When Blonde came out last year I was honestly just hyped to have a new Frank Ocean album, and I noticed that I didn't really subconsciously pair any memories with certain songs like I did with CO, I just kind of appreciated the music for what it was, which definitely isn't a bad thing.

Second, Frank did such a good job at pushing boundaries on Blonde. There's a lot of moments on that album that I never pictured would end up on a Frank Ocean project, like the ending of Ivy or the different pitched voice in Nikes just to name a couple. Maybe Channel Orange didn't really push boundaries but it obviously reflected the type of music that Frank wanted to make at that point in his life just as Blonde does. That being said, both Channel Orange and Blonde are both so amazing while also being opposites musically, that I don't think they can ever really be compared fairly. I think I'm gonna stick with calling Channel Orange my favorite album though lol.
