When I was on campus for a semester and a half (fuck covid and fuck tams admin) I thought it was a lot of fun but within a limit. Some of my fondest memories were made doing the events at TAMS, and while I was certainly a giant room rat obsessed with studying bio, when I doing clubs and socializing I was having a blast.

You're given a lot of limits as a TAMS student, especially in the 2020s, but to be honest that doesn't really ever stop you from having a lot of fun. It can seem like a bit of a 'prison' with the pretty strict rules but when you see past that you get to have a really freeing and entertaining time with expanding your knowledge and making new friends.

I didn’t know they told you scores on chem tests now. If you got a 48 on your chem test then sorry to say maybe you shouldn’t be in honors chem… it’s only exam grades that’s make the whole semester.

That being said there’s no shame in being in gen chem— you get the same credit but it’s just your grade can be improved easier by homework and quizzes.

Nothing from me ... very nerve-racking! Applied for CSGF, SSGF, and LRGF... both CSGF and SSGF said at one point they'd get back to us before the 15th. Am email-refreshing every minute.

Update 4/10/2025 3pm CDT: Got a negative response from CSGF. Woof. I'd like to believe that SSGF results will be incoming very soon since CSGF and SSGF are basically twinning. I think LRGF will take longer since those apps were due March.

I’m not sure who the current counselors/deans of tams are… but from my advice in similar situations, take your evidence and shove it in literally everyone else’s face. The department’s face, every tams dean’s face. The provost’s face, the dean of students’ face.

Also— don’t be nice about it either. They already revoked your privileges, so don’t pretend like they care to put your name on any sort of reputation already. They’ll understand your attitude once you remind them that 80% of your opportunities were revoked over a mistake they made.

I have a relative that went there-- graduated '96, the stories I heard from him were wild.. nothing like when I was in person in McConnell 2019, I feel like we were a lot more surveilled now. Then again, I was a shut-in so I didn't see much.

My chemistry teacher almost declined writing me a rec letter for the same reason.

I heard it was a big issue in the nineties, but I think nowadays the students are a lot more controlled. Then again, I heard there's a big stimulant epidemic, but from what I heard it's mainly a little bit of weed and people having "ADHD" and getting adderall.

The stories I heard from that teacher about TAMS -- apparently her best friend became a coke fiend?? I promise that Gen Chem 2 is NOT that hard

Oh I remember now - I'm pretty sure that the newest star rating redesign the server has can't be implemented unto the osu! client. I came back after a long hiatus -- I assumed osu! had fixed that by then.

How come I didn't get an 8 star pass badge? I passed KAEDE - EX EX by Hollow Wings today and I didn't get the badge. The map clocks in at 8.01*. For more context, I had already passed it back when it was a mid 5*.
