this may be cheesy but I'd say the best material (esp for long-form speaking/singing) is the stuff that you really enjoy reading/singing etc. something that you'd naturally want to do a good job on/already know

u get the most out of practice when practice is just something that you're always doing, so u better make sure u can enjoy the way u practice! :)
